Kids Crazy Sayings

Have you ever been talking to your toddler/child and thought "Where do you come up with this stuff?" I do almost every day. I decided to record some of these because they just crack me up and I figured they might give you a little laugh as well.

Scenario One: I'm in the bathroom, being pregnant big surprise there. Of course I haven't been able to use it by myself since Monkey learned to crawl. He's just in the bathroom with me looking around and things and doesn't seem to be paying attention to me (when he does I try to kick him out) when all of a sudden he says, "I pee our my pee pee, you pee out your butt." I start laughing and just answer, "Sure, yes that what Mommy does." No point into getting into the details with him now. We will save that until a later time.

Scenario Two: We get home from a visit with Granny and Great Popa. I'm standing the kitchen talking to Grandma when I turn around and see Monkey undressing in the other room. I say, "Monkey what are you doing? Get your clothes back on." Monkey's response, "But I need a bath!" like it should have been obvious to me what he was doing. Apparently instead of asking for a bath he figured just undressing would get the job done. It did. We headed into the bathroom and he got a bath which was much needed.

Scenario Three: We are in the parking lot getting out of the car when Monkey says, "That's like a dolphin so it can swim." I'm thinking, "Huh?" but say, "What looks like a dolphin?" Monkey says, "The car can swim cause it's like a dolphin." I look around to still try to understand what he is talking about when I see the car next to ours. It is a Cadillac that has what looks like a fin on the top of the car.

I say, "Yes, it does look like a dolphin fin but cars can't swim." Monkey proceeds to argue with me that this car can swim because it's like a dolphin. I continue to explain why cars can't swim and after a little time he finally is convinced that cars are only for land. He has such an imagination!

Scenario Four: We went fishing with his cousins and Popa. While we are waiting for Popa to get all the fishing stuff up we feed the ducks and geese. There is this one goose that climbs out of the water and tries to steel the bread out of Monkey's hands. I grab Monkey's hat and start smacking the ground to try and scare it away. It backs up and then comes again. He does this several times until I have to get up and actually scare it back into the water. When we are done fishing and in the car heading home Monkey tells me, "That was one scary goose!" all dramatic. So adorable!

Last Scenario: We are in the car and we have been listening to Monkey's kids CD's the past couple times we were in the car. This time Daddy is driving and has country on when the theme song from Cars comes on and Monkey said, "Mommy, you turn on a song for me?" very excitedly. It's really funny what kids remember from movies.

Please share your kids funny or random comments. I would love to hear them!

Holiday Traditions?

I'm so excited to be co-hosting with Melissa! I have been a long time reader & finally got around to co-hosting! I can't wait to see all of your holiday traditions & I'm sure add a few to my list too! Holiday Traditions? What are those? I'm not sure we have any set up in our family. We never really had anything that we did every year growing up either. So I'm not surprised that we haven't thought about setting anything up for our kids either. Last year we tried doing the  Three Wise Men Gifts  but I of course bought more than just 3 gifts. So what is the plan this year for holiday traditions in our house? Bass Pro Shop Winter Wonderland to visit Santa Three wise men gifts  One Santa gift plus the stocking Baking cookies at Granny & Great Popa's house Baking cookies at Grandma & Popa's house with cousins & then heading to the local fire department & police station to share with the men & women that keep us safe throug

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
