TAT: Our Family Pets

We have had Sassie since she was just 8 weeks old in 2006. She has been a great member of the family and has been very welcoming to each addition we have brought home. I think that her mommy instincts kick in whenever there are kids around. She just loves to lay next to them and now with Goose being home she has to check on him every time we come back home. It's like she's making sure we didn't leave him somewhere. We also welcomed fish  to our family earlier this year for Monkey's birthday. He really enjoyed them at first but now they are kind of a second thought. I can't really blame him we have had a bunch going on lately that is quite distracting.                                                   Welcoming Monkey home Playing with baby Monkey on his play mat  More time with Monkey Watching a movie with Sassie I know super gross and I can't believe I caught this picture but so cute that they were playing together Monk

Just some adorable pictures

I thought that Pilot looks extra cute today and I thought I'd share.

Welcome Pilot James

Pilot James joined us on July 25, 2012 at 5:55am He was welcomed by Mommy and Daddy after a quick delivery Rex was so excited to meet baby Pilot He's so adorable! I could not image life without him already. He just fits perfectly into our house.  More about our labor and our first few days as I get time to type them up but first I need to spend time with Rex and Pilot and adjusting to having a family of four now. Tornado Slim and the Magic Cowboy Hat: A Children's Book Review

I really enjoyed reading this book to Rex. I picked it from the library because I want to read books to him that inspire his imagination. This book talks about Slim's hat saving towns with magic.  It is a book that is a little long for a child that is 3 years old but Rex loves reading so he sits through the whole book. After the first time reading it he was able to tell me what the book was about. You could tell that he really enjoyed it.  It also teaches that you can be just a normal person and strolling through life when bad things happen to people around you. When this happens you have to choose are you going to be the person that runs away or the person that is going to stay and help. Slim was the guy that stayed and helped which I think is the best type of person we can be. God puts us in situations that require us to make these tough choices and I love that we can read a fun book like Tornado Slim and the Magic Cowboy Hat by Bryan Langdo to help teach these type of i

Bumpdate 39 weeks, 2 days

No smiles this week. I'm exhausted, hot, and very uncomfortable. Plus I have had a very emotional couple of days that are not helping me at all. The good news is that God is answering my prayers so even though I'm completely ready for Goose to come out and join us I'm trusting God's timing. Why? Well if I could have chose the timing this week it would have been the worst timing this month. So for now I'm going to just suffer through my emotional and physical feelings and keep going on with life until God decides that it is time for it to change.  How far along?  39 weeks 2 days How big is baby?  He feels huge! I have no idea how big he is I just know that he is getting bigger and bigger. I think he's going to be over 8 pounds for sure. Weight gain?  Another 2 pounds this week and I passed the mark that I was trying to avoid. It just makes me want to get back to working out regularly as quickly as I'm aloud to.  Maternity clothes? Yep. I can't

Baby Bumpdate! Week 38

I have been struggling to this past week because I keep being told that he should come any day now and then it doesn't happen. I'm starting to feel like I'm done being pregnant and just ready for him to come out. So today I decided that I'm going to stick with the original day that I picked for him to come which is July 31st. My due date is the 25th but so was Rex's and he came on the 31st and I thought it would be fun if both my boys did the same thing. So I'm done thinking that he is coming any day. He's coming on the 31st. If he comes early then of course that is great because I can start getting my body back to normal and not be so uncomfortable. But if he stays in until then I'm not going to feel like it's taking forever because mentally that is the day for him. As always I know that God has planned his perfect birthday and I don't get a say in it so I just have to wait until then. So here is my update stats for you all.  How far a

4th of July Recap

4th of July is a big family day for us. The park by our house has always had 4th of July celebrations that start with a bike parade for the kids. My sister and I have each won several years when we were younger and now it's time for the next generation to take over. My nephews have each won and my niece won last year and this year. Hopefully Rex can follow along and win in the next years. Isn't he just adorable! I think he should have won! My niece took 2nd place!  Daddy had to walk with him because he didn't quite have the pedals down yet. Time to eat! BBQ! A 4th of July tradition!  Yes the pregnant lady had to stuff her face! Water play with all the cousins!  Eating yummy ice cream!  Making a mess!  Playing with poppers while we are waiting for it to be dark for fireworks!  He had a blast throwing them at Daddy's feet. Cleaning up his mess! He thought it was so much fun to

Conviction

Being convicted by God is never fun. I know because it happens quite often if I would listen to it more. Most recently I was talking to someone to help me figure out some issues I have been having with our current living situation and with Monkey. I reached out to her because she knows my family really well but also has chosen to live the homemaking life style that God has called us to do. She also is raising 7 children in her home so she has been through every stage that I know I will go through with Monkey. Basically, she is what I would consider an expert in homemaking. (I have been watching legal shows lately that always have 'expert' witnesses.) Anyway, I knew that she would be completely honest with me and that she would have great advice. So I packed up my tissue, a trash bag, and my water and headed out in the car to talk to her in the parking lot on the phone so I could have some privacy. I expected to cry during our conversation, more from hormones than the subject

Baby Bumpdate: Week 37

This one has to be quick. I haven't had time to get on here and get this written up. Before I start I would like to ask you to pray for Hubby's family. Grandpa isn't doing well and we aren't sure what is going on. We need prayers for the doctors to figure out what is going on but also for strength for all of us that are helping Grandma and Grandpa through the process. Right now he is in the hospital so they can try and figure out what is wrong. OK now for Goose! How far along?  37 Weeks! How big is baby?  He's about 19 1/2 inches and almost 7 pounds. Weight gain? Midwife said it's normal and good! Maternity Clothes?  Of course. Maternity pictures today! Stretch Marks?  Nothing new. Sleep?  I'm waking up about every 2 hours and having to switch positions but I'm actually feeling pretty rested except for last night with M being in the ER with Grandpa until after midnight. I'm feeling exhausted today! Best Moment this Week?

I'm not ready to give up being pregnant!

I'm not ready to give up being pregnant yet but I keep thinking about how easier some things will be once Goose comes out. Once I'm not pregnant anymore ...getting up off the couch, floor, and out of bed will be so much easier! ...we will save so much money by not having to buy toilet paper every week from me having to pee almost every 5 minutes! ...bending over to do dishes won't hurt anymore! ...I will be able to lift boxes, laundry, and other heavy things that need moving without asking for help. ...I will be able to get comfortable while sitting on the couch or sleeping in bed! (Of course sleep might be something I get a lot of but I will be able to get comfortable!) So although I'm ready to be able to do the things on the above list without having a big belly to cause discomfort or inconvenience, I'm not really ready to give up being pregnant. I love being pregnant and for the most part it is pretty easy for me. I'm really hoping that I get to

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July!  Please be safe and if you choose to shoot off fireworks make good choices.  We don't need anymore fires here in Colorado or anywhere else!

TAT: Summer Fun

This summer has a theme of water! Pool, sprinkler, and splash park! Rex really can't get enough time playing in the water. It's so stinking cute to watch. So here are some pictures of our latest trip to the splash park. (Might by picture overload). Isn't he just adorable!!!!!
