Baby Shower for #2

So it's getting to that point where I need to have an answer if someone offers to throw me a baby shower. I have heard many sides to this but still don't know what to do.  Here are some of the things that I have heard.  You have a shower if you have a different gender than the first. Diaper party. Problem...we use cloth diapers so although we need new ones can we ask people to drive to Denver or Boulder to get what we need? It doesn't matter what people use to do. Have a shower. I would love to hear from people that are in this same position, been there or just over all have an opinion. I really don't know what to do. Please help me figure this out! Thanks!

19 Week Bumpdate

Dear Baby, Well it's now 19 weeks! Ya! I get excited each time a week goes by because I know I'm closer to meeting you! You are growing big time. I'm feeling you move almost every day now and you have started stretching already where you push against me and it makes me unconformable. I think it might be a long couple of months if this is starting already.  My day clothes are maternity and super comfy however I'm quickly outgrowing all of my bedtime clothes. This makes sleeping more uncomfortable which is equaling less sleep for me. I'm trying to figure out the best ways for me to sleep and be comfortable but nothing has helped yet.  With all this growing I'm noticing that I'm starting to get a new stretch mark from you. Your brother gave me some but it looks like you want me to have some from you too.  My food cravings are still pretty similar. Most things just sound gross to me. Dairy on the other hand always sounds good. I could drink m

Daddy Time

I had to link up with  Toddle Along Tuesday  this week because it's about Dads. We have had our share of up and downs when it comes to Rex and his relationship with his Daddy. The major down was when M was traveling for work and was gone 10 days at a time and then home for only 4 days. There relationship suffered some loss during this time. However, he's been home now for almost a year now and even had so recent weeks off from work that have allowed for this to change greatly.  This is the very first time he held Rex after he was born. He was so proud to have a son and somewhat relived that the ultrasound tech was wrong about him having a daughter. The thought terrifies him. When Rex was born he spent 8 days in the hospital and M made sure he was there the entire time. He finally had to start leaving during the day for work but was there every second he could be and even slept there with me every night.  Rex was under blue lights for jaundice for two months. We were fi

18 Week Bumpdate

Dear Growing Baby, That's the theme for you this week. I feel like you have had to double in size this past week maybe week in a half. I feel huge compared to what I remember feeling like last week. Yesterday I wore a t-shirt that is normally huge on me and so far my belly hasn't shown when I have worn it. Well that changed yesterday. My shirt kept sticking to my belly all day! You have to have grown because I'm getting more uncomfortable and doing things like dishes and laundry are getting harder because I have to bend over. I'm still feeling tired. I'm just starting to think that it will never go away. I think I will be tired the entire pregnancy. I'm beginning to think that you are going to cause problems when you come out. If this pregnancy is any sign to our future we are going to have our hands full. We have another midwife appointment next month and I'm getting excited. This is the big one...where we get to find out what you are. I'm excit

Proverbs 4 Bible Study

Bible Study Tuesday...very late on Friday! I want to apologize that this didn't get done and written out for Tuesday. It really was just because I haven't had the time or the words to write it.  Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you;  embrace her, and she will honor you.  She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor. Proverbs 4:5-9 I still can not get over how much Proverbs is talking about wisdom and understanding. How important must it be for us to have to live in this world. God knows us so well. He knows to keep repeating and repeating it because we won't get it just the first time. One thing that was shared in our Bib

17 Weeks Bumpdate

To my precious baby, I'm 17 weeks right now and met with the midwife last Thursday. It's was Amiee who was the midwife that I saw with your brother. She is excited to see how this pregnancy and baby are after delivery. She told me that I'm the type of person that could end up delivering at home or in the car on the way to the hospital because of how Rex's delivery went. She made sure to point out how important it is to get checked right away if I think I might be in labor. It's really soon to be talking about labor signs because you are no where ready to come out but I guess it is important to know for when the time comes. The good thing with that is she thinks that my labor with you will be just as easy as it was with Rex. I'm happy about that! I gained another pound or so this week. They said that's good. I have decided that I'm going to start doing some exercises this week because I'm having a lot of back pain already so I'm going t

Proverbs 3 Bible Study

1My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, 2for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. 3Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. 4Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. 5Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. 7Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones, 9Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; 10then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your cats will brim over with new wine. 11My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, 12Because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. 13Blessed is the man

16 Week Bumpdate

Dear Baby, I'm 16 weeks along and I'm enjoying most of the pregnancy. I have gained another 2 pounds but plan to slow it down just a bit. I haven't been eating really great because of the snow and what we have in the house. This week I will be using my new favorite website from  How She Does It  to meal plan healthy meals this week. This will help me eat healthier and help make sure you are getting everything you need without any extra weight gain for me. I have been craving Mexican food which I personally dislike passionately so it's definitely cravings. This will come into play when I'm making my weekly meal plan. Daddy is loving it too because he loves Mexican food and we hardly ever eat it. I have been in maternity clothes since about 8 weeks. Mostly just pants. I can still wear most of my shirts that I always wear. My PJ pants are starting to get tight and uncomfortable so I'm hoping to be able to buy something that fits better and will last the whol

The Best Meal-Planning Website Ever!

Thank you so much to  All This Grace and Charm  who shared this wonderfully easy way to meal plan.  Normally this process is very long for me. I look over the adds and see what's on sale as far as meats. Pull out cookbooks and start looking for recipes. Always have helpful hands during this part. Write down the recipes I will be using, what cookbook they are in, and the page number. Write down all the things I need from the store from the recipe. Put everything away. Hang my weekly list on the fridge. Head to the store. Now that I found  How Does She Do It  it's not that time consuming anymore.  I made up categories after watching her four minute video from her ideas. I went through the recipes (still am actually but had to stop and write this so I could share the wonderful website) and started adding them to my lists. I'm going to keep going through the recipes for now and then I'm going to make my list for the week. I'm not heading out to the

Happy Birthday!

Today my husband turns 29! I'm so happy that he has blessed me with being a wonderful husband. We don't have big plans for his birthday (at least not together). He was lucky enough that his birthday fell on his 'boys night' so he will be spending his birthday with his best friend. Saturday we will have my parents over for dinner and enjoy some pizza (his choice) and cake and ice cream that Monkey picked out.  We also went shopping yesterday and Monkey picked out a present for daddy. I will try to get pictures and post them after he opens them. Really the presents are more for Monkey than daddy but that's OK.  Hubby!  I'm so glad we have many more to share together!
