Cloth Diapers Here We Come!

Well here we go again! Starting cloth diapering with baby #2! We started cloth diapers the day before Goose's first 5K . My mom was completely against me starting it before such a big event but I couldn't help it! I was so excited to get started! I had plenty of diapers to keep going for another week with disposable ones but I just didn't want to wait! We didn't start right away because we didn't have enough cloth diapers to do it full time and I knew that I wouldn't be good at doing cloth only part time. Thankfully a good friend of mine called me up and said that there were some cloth diapers at a garage sale. I'm pretty picky about used cloth diapers but I figured I'd stop and see if they were good. Well they were almost brand new bumGenius  diapers! There were 6 of them which is exactly what I needed to start even though I would love to have a few more! I checked them all out, bought them for $5 (totally would have spent $15), brought them home and

Goose's 3 Months Stats

3 MONTHS? Really? Already? I can't believe that it has been 3 months since I was in the hospital  pushing this little guy out!  STATS: weight: 14.6 pounds fully clothes and with his cloth diaper height: 24 inches (still) He loves sitting up in any position. He just doesn't want to stay in the same position for long. He is starting to like playing on the floor over being held.  He got his first toy  in his mouth all on his own & on purpose yesterday! He loves his binky after a lot of work on my part to prevent his thumb being his comfort! He love tummy time in short doses! He LOVES his brother! He watches everything he does! When Daddy comes home he doesn't want anything to do with Mommy. (until its time to nurse!) Nurses every 2 hours during the day, only one side at a time. He's trying hard to say Mama! He's said it with what seems like wanting attention several times this week! Sleeping better! Most nights he goes down by 10, up

First Toy to Mouth!

Just now Goose got his first toy in his mouth all on his own! I'm excited because maybe so he can do it with his binky so I don't have to get out of bed to do it for him! One step closer to getting more sleep! Of course when I tried to get a picture he started to get mad but hey I tried!

Marvelous Moment #6

Family House Rules

So last night I finally got Goose in bed early! I mean by 9:00 pm he was in bed and sound asleep. This gave me a chance to read a parenting book for a group that I'm in from my church. Well that sparked an idea which lead to being on the computer until midnight, which is the normal time Goose has been going to bed. This would be why I haven't been able to post anything lately. I do all my writing at night and after midnight my mind is just a big jumble! So here is the project I was working on! I would love your ideas on this before I print it. It's going to cost about 120 bucks before shipping so I want to make sure it's perfect before I send for it. I'd love to know if there is anything that you would add or take away from your household rules. I also would love some ideas for a different title. I'm not the most creative person so it would be great if you had an idea that you would like to share! Thank you so much!

Goose's First 5K

I haven't shared much about being a board member on a local non-profit here in Colorado but I am today because we just had our first Run, Stroll & Roll 5K Free Community Event! It was a blast! Own Your Own Health  is a great organization that is helping people take ownership of their own health. Our mission is Encouraging, developing & supporting ownership of your health and healthcare.  My family has a special bond with this organization for at least two reasons: 1.) my best friend is the founder and executive director and she has the most kind spirit of anyone I know! 2.) because when Hubby was sick this past April not only did the mission of the organization and the information they provide help save his life and get him the care he needed but Tiffany was there for support every step of the way! Here are just a few pictures from the event. Kelsey Campbell from the 2012 London Olympics was there and she signed Goose's shirt.  She said it was the f

James 1:19 Bible Study

19  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,   20   for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.   21   Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. James 1:19-21 I don't feel like I struggle with this like I have in the past. Of course I still struggle with this today, after all I am married and have a 3 year old ;) but I think this verse is important to everyone in today's world.  We live in a time when it's common to use hand signals to show our anger on the road or to yell at our spouse or children. Or when we know that someone is having a difficult time we want to share our experience or share what we think the solution should be. But instead God calls us to "be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." This is a verse that I try to live by daily because more often than not

James 1:2-4, 12 Bible Study

2   Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,   3   because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  4   Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  12   Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of the life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:2-4, 12 Don't you just love it when you start going through a season of trials? Whether that season is just a bad day or maybe an uncomfortable year? I know I don't enjoy them and we have had our fair share of  seasons of trials  this past year. More than I have shared here.  For me this verse lets me look at the trials in a different way. I hear God telling me that the trials we are going through are to build up to be "mature and complete" so that we are lacking nothing in our lives. Doesn't that life sound great?

The Book of James Chapter 1

There is so much that I'm learning just from studying this one chapter of James. Today I will share with you the chapter in full and then expand on the highlighted verses later this week. James 1    1 James, a servant of God and  of the Lord Jesus Christ,  To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:  Greetings. Trials and Temptations     2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.   5  If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;  8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in al

Wordless Wednesday: Bed Jumping

Couldn't this be a better picture? We have one rule about jumping in our house: it must be done on Mommy and Daddy's bed or on his mattress on the floor. This time Goose loved watching him jump. He was laughing and having a good ol' time!

More Great Deals!

I LOVE the  JBF Sale ! I get great stuff every time I go there and I normally only go on 1/2 price day which makes it even better. The problem? I tend to over buy :/ I only need a few things for both boys and here is what I got... A whole bunch of clothes (that barely fit in the kids dressers) A warm carseat snugly for Goose so he won't get cold this winter A great color wheel puzzle for Monkey so he can learn more about how different colors mix together! Some new movies! Just got a VHS again because I got a whole bunch of movies for free. A food grinder and feeder for Goose. We have a knockoff the bullet but it is in storage plus you have to make a bunch when you use it. Plus another mom there has one and told me that they take it when the eat out and just grind up whatever they are eating for there little one. Great idea right?!?! All this was about $100 bucks! Seriously couldn't have gotten all this in a store for that price! We are set until t
