Workout Program with Spark People

I had never heard of  Spark People  until my awesome neighbor talked to me about it. She thought it would be a great addition to our workout program we are starting. I'm so excited to have a wonderful Christ centered person to work out with and be accountable too! So first a little information about our workout plan. First before every workout we are praying for our strength to keep going with our plan, to keep our bodies strong, and to be able to get to a healthy weight so that we can be the woman God called us to be. Then we start our work out with no less than 5 days a week. We both have kids and other things going on that may prevent every day work outs but we would like to do everyday when possible. We will have weekly weigh in's and monthly measurements to track our progress. We are starting with the Slim in 6 DVD's and hope that they work out for us. I have a goal to lose 60 pounds by April 3rd 2012 because it's my birthday and what better way to celebrate tha

Y3W: I hate drama!

I really consider myself and my life pretty drama free. I try my best to keep people that seek after drama at a distance because I really just don't feel like dealing with it. I have certain family that automatically causes it but you know they are family and there isn't much you can do about it but set up boundaries to not allow it to affect your daily life. Which we do! I love all my extended family but sometimes, seriously, just grow up, stop acting like the world revolves around you and get over it. You children have their own families now! Anyway! After dealing with more family drama (disclaimer: the person I'm talking about would not be reading this so if your family and you are it's not you that I'm complaining about :) then I get a nasty note from a neighbor who is just plain being rude. And I love how they waited until I left before putting the note of the door. I haven't had a car for almost 3 full months and this week my hubby finally got his motorcy

Quick Update!

So first I want to say I'm very sorry for the lack the posting. I'm not quitting on you, just really busy. We have had family in town the past 10 days and more family coming this weekend for another 10 days and it's getting a little crazy around here. I have been doing better with keeping up on the house and not letting it get overwhelming. I started watching a 3 month old little girl along with Rex this week so we are adjusting to having a new baby around and all the time she requires.  I promise to be back in about a month with more post until then it will just be random here and there posts when I find the time. Thanks for sticking around with me!

Media Monday: Media & Friendships

This is going to have to be short and sweet because I need to get to bed. Today is the first day in several days that I have been able to get on the computer. To me facebook friends are not always 'real' friends. I have the people that I'm close with that I actually invest time in but then there are the people that are more like acquaintances. I have thought about deleting everyone that is not really a friend but for some reason I just feel like I should keep everyone on there.  I have discovered that friendships on facebook can be good and bad.  GOOD: Easy way to keep in contact Easy way to stay updated with other's lives Able to know specific ways to pray for people Reconnecting with people from the past Chatting with friends while doing some computer work BAD: Sometimes to much contact is a bad thing Gossip can start because of the status updates Instead of praying for people jealousy of what others have can take over Reconnecting with the

Y3W: I'm Not Perfect

I'm not perfect. I think you already know that as no one is perfect on this earth even though sometimes people can look like it on the outside. I do post many things about the good things going on in my life because I would rather talk about those then dread on the bad or negative things. However today I'm going to make sure you know that I'm not perfect by a long shot. Since about last Wednesday (so over a week now)I have been struggling. I haven't been doing great in my alone time in the Word, I haven't been praying like I was, I'm craving foods that I shouldn't and eating them instead of praying about it and have gained a few pounds back, I'm not doing great on the house work and I'm struggling in making the right decisions in my parenting as Monkey is entering into this new independent/I'm not listening stage. I know what has caused this struggle and I have been working on it but I have been doing alone and not letting God help me through

A Day at the Park

I love a day at the park with Rex. He loves swinging and playing with the other kids. This particular day he was able to play with the his "best friends" as he calls the neighbor kids.    He normally doesn't like the slides but this day he actually went on one. He use to love slides and would go down head first with no fear. His fear must have hit at some point because now he only goes down feet first if he does it at all.   He loves the water at the park. He would play in just that if I would let him. We have to play on the playground first (which normally means just swinging) and then he can head to the water. With his blood condition (which I haven't posted on but plan to soon) he gets cold easily and can't warm up very quickly. This is why I have to limit that water play. He does love it though! So cute! He was running with his tongue out and I was so worried he was going to fall and bite it off. He did OK though and didn't hurt his tongue (even thou

Media and Homemaking (100th Post)

If there is one thing I have learned about homemaking is that media is the devil's way of getting you to do nothing. I can easily get wrapped up in any type of media and not accomplish anything for the day (including neglecting my child's need for attention). Homemaking now a days is much easier than my grandparents, or even great grandparents. Now we have a dish washer, washing machine, stoves/ovens, microwaves...etc. to make our homemaking even easier. However it still seems like it takes a long time to get anything done.  For my family we have made choices that require things to take more time. Like no microwave, line drying a lot of our clothes, and washing all our pots and pans by hand to save on the amount of time we run the dishwasher.  This is important to me because adding some more to my daily routine saves us money and helps me add some money to our finances.  I can't imagine how life was before all of our modern  conveniences. What it was like to rai

WEDDING! Part 2: The Day Of

**Warning more Picture overload!** I couldn't help it! WEDDING DAY! (August 6, 2005) On our wedding day I was so excited! I got ready at my parents house and J. and the guys got ready at our house. It was so much fun to get our hair done at a long time friends  hair salon .  After that we headed over to my parents house to start getting ready.    Everyone was busy getting me ready and many people were up my dress trying to get my 'fluff' to stay up so I didn't have to hold my dress us when walking.  My dad was kicked out of the house until I was done. I wanted him to get the whole sh-a-bang when he walked in. This was interesting. I had to climb into the truck but was not allowed to step on the tailgate and I couldn't see my feet. It was so funny! It looks like we were going fast but we really weren't but that's how we got to the park.  THE CEREMONY! After all that hard work to make it so I d
