Wordless Wednesday: Just like Daddy

Prophets

So I'm curious if you believe in prophets? I have had many things spoken over me that have both happened and not have happened. Any time something has been spoken over me that I have had a good feeling about has happened. I have felt "Oh, that was definitively God" feeling. Then there have been maybe twice that I was like, "Um...that was just weird and didn't feel right."  Well it has happened again. I have been told some things that are going to happen in the near future. I'm not going to share all the details but I know that God is working to change some major things in my life and I'm so excited to see everything that comes from this.  I have been feeling this change coming and that's why I have been trying to dive into prayer and the Bible and make sure that I'm listening to Him so I'm able to follow His directions. I believe that this all started when the hubs came home. We had been talking, talking, and more talking about him switch

Finally finished the hubs Father's day gift!

So I know this is a little late but I finally got the hubby's father's day gift finished and I made another one for my mom as well. I made them each their own "Junk Food Bucket". I think they are so cute.  This is a Heritage Makers project that came out for Father's Day and I just loved the idea. You can put fabric or ribbon on the handle but I decided not to do it because the hubs would really want that and my mom probably wouldn't want it either. Now it's just time to fill them up with some junk food I have around the house and I will be gifting them tomorrow.  I gotta say I love Heritage Makers  and the different things I can do with it! They have a kinds of great gift ideas!

Made to Crave Chapter 1

WOW! Really good! God is definitively trying to teach me some things. So there were a few things that stuck out to me this chapter and I have to tell you they will be big life changers if I stick with it.  The first one is believing that God created us to crave. He created us to crave HIM! God doesn't create something that is bad or evil. The world just turns it that way. So what I'm going to remember is that God created me to crave and that I'm to be craving more time with Him. My plan is every time I have a craving (whether it be food or something else like new shoes) I'm going to spend time in prayer and talking to God before I fulfill that craving. I want to have all my needs met but I know that I can not do that alone, only God can fill me up completely. The second one is that satan uses 3 ways to get me to crave things outside of God and he tempted Jesus the same way. 1st with " cravings: meeting physical desires outside the will of God."  2nd with "

Made to Crave Book Study

So I have heard great things about this book and have started reading it and I would love to share what I'm learning through it will everyone. I'm not sure about all of you but I know most of the people (women) I know struggle with weight/self-image issues. I have decided to read this book because I would much rather be happy where I'm at and have a deeper relationship with God. I know that I want to lose weight I'm not going to be able to do it without Him!  So.... The introduction was awesome! I love it already and it makes sense. I also love her writing style so far. It's like listening to a friend talk to you. It's very laid back and real. She talks about her own struggles.  Quotes from the book that mean a lot to me : " God made us capable of craving so we'd have an unquenchable desire for more of Him, and Him alone." This explains why I have cravings for certain foods/things in my life. I'm trying to fill the void that I feel but that can

Can't Help but Share This!

So I can't help but share this! I'm so excited! I'm not sure that I'm don yet but I love what I have done and I just have to share with everyone what I have created. These are   Rex's ABC's & 123's  cards that I made on Heritage Makers. I have to give credit to  Raising Might Arrows  for the idea. I have been so frustrated with the ABC cards in the store because not all the letters are right (like a is the computer a instead of the way we teach kids to write it) and I have thought about just making my own but then when I saw the one's that Raising Mighty Arrows created with the Bible verses to go along I knew that I had to make them. I really hope that you take a look and see what I did! So the cards are a deck of playing cards that  Heritage Makers  sells and I think they will be perfect! I will be ordering a set of these as soon as I have finished making minor edits to the deck and I think I might be sending it to the company to possibly have it ma

Meal Planning/Couponing

So our finances have changed and well I didn't have to really think about meal planning or how much I was spending at the store. Well now I do again so here I am going to do my first meal plan plus shopping list plan but there is only one problem...I don't feel like it.  We also have turned into a one car family so on Thursday's I get to borrow my dad's car for a mom's group day at the movies and while I have it I try to get a few other things done that need to be done. Today we did the movies and now I need to go to the library and the grocery store. I'm going to get the ads, my coupon book, cookbooks, and paper so I can make my list! Ok so with my coupons and just good deals I will buying this list. Cantaloupe $.79 Cheez-Its $1.99 each when you buy 5 (not normally what I buy but we can't get organic right now) Kellogg's Cereal $1.99 each when you buy 5 plus I have 2 coupons. One for $1 off 2 boxes and one for $1 off 3 boxes! Gold Fish 5 for $5 Not sure

Struggling

So about once every 6 weeks I struggle with the idea of be a SAHM. My hormones get all crazy and I get lethargic and can barley function much less be the mom that I want to be but here I am still a mom and still at home after 2 years.  It has been a long day with up and down battles with myself and Rex. I hate right now that on these days I'm stuck at home and can't get our of the house. It takes much more energy to load up a car and leave the house than to walk to the park that is almost right behind my house but still on days like this I want to get far away not just around the corner.  I did have some high points today that remind me why I love what I do.  We headed outside for some much needed sunshine and fresh air and played with chalk. This is Rex's first time playing with chalk and he really enjoyed it.  Another great thing about chalk is that it can be a fun way to teach as well. For Rex it is fun but for me not so much. See I'm allergic to chalk so I have to m

Dylan's 8th Birthday

So my nephew Dylan turned 8 on Saturday! We went to Loveland to celebrate with him. Here are some pictures but I'm not really feeling up to typing a bunch so....  Birthday Boy The elk we saw right across the street from the party when we were leaving. It was really cool.

A Great Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day yesterday and today. Yesterday we were in Loveland for my nephew's 8th birthday (tomorrow's post) and since we did a joint gift we gave it to my dad yesterday.   My dad and I have a contest every holiday to see if we can make each other cry. Not mean but just to see who can get the most sentimental gift or card. This year my card was good but he was able to hold it together but the calendar did it! He teared up while looking at his calendar  I made just for him! And the kids had a blast playing with Popa on the floor! This made us all laugh!  I love kids!  Then we celebrate today too. We spent most of our day just lounging around because that's what Miah wanted to do. Then we headed over to my parents house to have dinner. Mom and I cooked steaks, tater tots, salad, and corn on the cob. I'm proud of the picture below because Rex finally figured out how to eat corn on the cob! And he loved it!  He's so cute! I love his little faces he m

Cloth Diapers Day 6

So we are on day six of our adventure back into the cloth diapers. We are actually doing pretty well. I went to two different diaper stores and was able to get a new wet bag that works great for at home when we are on the main level and for when we are out and in the diaper bag. It will hold about 10 to 15 diapers if need be. This is awesome because I use to have to carry two wet bags if we were out and about.  I also got a new butt cream that is safe to use with cloth diapers and that is made locally which I love. I bought this for at night because his poor little butt was fire engine red when he woke up in the morning. We do use two diaper liners at night time but it still wasn't helping but this new cream is so I'm excited. That means no more disposals (until our cruise).  We also got a swim diaper so that way we don't have to keep buying disposal for those as well. He will be using this a lot. With all the time we will spend at my parents house in the pool,

Y3W: He Loves 2 Eat!

So if we use a number instead of a word it still counts as "Y3W"s right? He was so cute eating his baked spaghetti I couldn't help but snap a few photos to show his adorable little face.  He does love to eat though. Normally he only eats dinner when Daddy's home but tonight he decided he was hungry enough to eat. Plus last night when he wouldn't eat he had to go to bed hungry because Daddy can't be home at dinner time. He is however home for breakfast and lunch so we do get to eat together. He's too stinkin' cute!
