Thank goodness for Dad's!

So tonight my little boy turned two (actually I have another 20 minutes but who's counting). My mom offered to cook Rex his favorite meal (mac & chess) for dinner so we went to their house where we ate and he got more gifts from them and cake and ice cream. We headed home around 8:30 which is normally Rex' bed time but due to all the sugar he had he wasn't quite ready. So I get home and unload Rex and his presents and some of my stuff and head to the front door. I put my key in the lock, turn it and then try to open it and it won't open. I try again. Still nothing. I shake the door really hard trying to get in and nothing. I freak my neighbor out so he comes out and tries the key and more shaking and nothing. So it's time to call my dad. Being that he has worked in home remodeling for years and has his own business I figured he can help. He shows up and tries the keys and shaking and nothing. He says, "I guess I will be replacing some trim tomorrow" an

Spring Cleaning TEAM!

So here I am being the stereo typical housewife that has hired a cleaning to crew to come and take care of my house. No I'm not to lazy to get it done but I am pretty busy and the older Rex gets the busier I seem to get. So this past weekend while Miah was home his allergies were killing him. He could breathe in the house because of the dog hair lovely Sassie leaves behind. We think it was especially bad this week because the house was locked up for the whole 10 days he was gone since I was gone too. I tired all weekend long to get stuff done in the house to make it better but I over did it and now I'm out of commission because I irritated my back. (I have a love hate relationship with my back injury). I'm planning a yard sale for this Saturday and everything that I put outside on the yard will not be coming back in. Either I sell it or it gets loaded in my car and dropped off somewhere. Miah has been begging me to do this for years and so instead of asking me to get the ho

Family Fun!

I love family! I always wanted to be apart of a big family and hoped one day I would marry into one...well guess what? I did and now I love my small little family even more! I'm so glad that I had such a close relationship with all of my small number of family members. I do love most of my newish extended family but have to tell you that when you get a bunch of family together drama is not far behind. There has been some issues of this drama going on and I've been praying and talking and trying to figure out what to do and God has finally given me the answer. Boundaries! They are great and although I struggle with them and don't always feel like it is right that is what I need to do. So to all my wonderful family out there I'm going to be making some changes and putting up some boundaries that will be better for my immediate family and I apologize now if it offends anyone but Miah, Rex and myself come first and this is what I have to do.

Every Mommy Needs One!

Yesterday for Rex's birthday his Grandma Sheila gave him a Doodle Pad! I thought it was cute but was sure that it would be ruined in a few days. Then Grandma said that it was a toy for the car. Ummm...never thought of that. So today we went to Granny and Grampy's house which is at least a 45 minute drive and he played with his Doodle Pad for about 20 minutes and then threw it down on the floor and went to sleep. When we left their house he played with it again for about 30 minutes and then threw it on the floor and started talking to us. This time that he was playing quietly gave Miah and I time to talk and have grown up time without Rex wanting our attention the whole time or screaming because he was tired but not yet ready for sleep. This was awesome! I think everyone should get one. I think I will be heading to the store to get an extra one for the car so that when Sami is here she can have one too! Love it! Thanks Grandma Sheila!

So I'm Back!

So I'm back from my wonderful break from reality. Going to OK was fun and I really enjoyed not being in the normal routine of everyday life, although I did spend most of my time watching kids and cleaning up after them, it was still different and mostly relaxing. While I was out there I figured that I gained all my weight back but when I got home and got on the scale I'm proud to say I didn't gain a pound. Which I have to tell you between all the Chinese buffets and Braum's ice cream runs I'm pretty shocked that the number didn't go up. Just one more note about my trip I have to acknowledge my sister-in-law as one of the bravest and strongest women I know personally. She has so much on her plate and she is able to deal with everyday life without making it look difficult. I'm super proud of her and all she is doing for herself and her kids. It's awesome to see. Today was Rex's 2nd birthday party and although we had several last minute changes like pla

Birthday List is getting smaller

So today I bought a bunch of stuff for Rex birthday party plus I finished his invitations and got them sent out to all the kids that will be coming. Super excited and nervous because if the weather is bad I have to figure out how to entertain a bunch of kids instead of just letting them play at the park. Tomorrow the plan is shopping for more birthday stuff, order the cake, and get haircuts plus getting more house cleaning and laundry done and picking up the suitcase(s) we need to get ready to go. Busy day tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.

He's not 2 yet!!!!

He's not 2 yet!!!! That's all I have to say!!!! Well not really...  So Monkey is hitting the dreaded age of 2 with all the terribleness included. Today of course my patience and consistency has been lower than normal due to unexpected back pain (thanking the wonderful Colorado weather for that). He has decided that listening to Mommy is optional and each day Hubby is gone he gets worse and worse whether we Skype or talk on the phone. He is now understanding that Daddy is away and Mommy is running close to empty on all emotions except overwhelmed. I think part of the problem was last week I was gone a lot. Between my class, prayer group, and Heritage Makers Monkey was away from me I think for 5 nights last week and Sunday morning while I went to church. I'm so grateful that my parents love having Monkey and are willing to take him because if not I wouldn't be able to do everything I've been doing because I couldn't afford to pay a babysitter. I think my new goal

Homework

So it was my choice to go back to school and I do enjoy it and really I do have the time to get all the work done but I do have to say that it's no fun having to plan more into my day to get homework done. If I want to get my pastor's certificate I better make sure that I study so that I can help people and do what God calls me to do. So far it's running a mom's group and taking classes. He is already pushing me out of my comfort zone so I can only imagine what He has in store for me as we go on. I guess I better quit blogging and get to studying since class is about 24 hours from now and I haven't started.

Need a new home!

So I need a new home for my wonderful dogs Sassie and Champ. I need to find them some place by March 13th. I know I only have a few followers but still thought I would post it here just incase. Sassie is 4 years old, rottwiler/blue heeler mix. Her name fits her perfectly because she likes to talk and especially when you tell her to do something. She does it just tells you that she doesn't really want to. Champ is 4 years old, boxer/lab mix. He's super lazy and would love just to sleep all day. We don't allow him on the funiture but he would love to be a big lap dog. Please let me know if anyone can help! Champ Sassie Thanks

Today's task in the making

Today I'm off to the nail salon (if Money ever gets up). It is my day to enjoy some Mommy free time :) I love spending time with Money but it is also nice to be able to get away for a little bit and enjoy some quiet time with just myself (and the nail tech). I'm super excited to go but now I just have decide on the color. Ugh! The choices. I was thinking green because of St. Patrick's day but I'm not sure I want green finger nails for a full month. I guess I could do the normal french tip because white is part of St. Patrick's day too but I'm not sure that I want to go that boring. I guess I will just have to get there and ask Bob what he thinks. After these great decisions are made it's time for Monkey and I to hit the grocery store together so we can finally get some food in this house. It should be interesting to see what we can find that he will eat. That kid is so picky for me. I can't get him to eat veggies, he use to love pasta so I could sneak it

Daddy Book

Yesterday the hubs left once again heading out to work. Since we have been dropping him off at the airport Monkey has been doing great with understanding that Daddy has to leave again for work. Before he left this time we bought a recordable book from Hallmark. Hubby recorded it and I locked it (which was a good thing because the first thing Monkey did was push the buttons that would have erased it all) and now that book has to go every where with him and if he puts it some where it can not be moved. His "Daddy Book" as he calls it is currently upstairs with him in bed. I think that it was worth the $30 so Monkey can hear his Daddy's voice whenever he wants to. Next time Hubby is home we plan to make some video of Daddy reading books with Money and playing with him so that he can see his Daddy whenever he wants to because Skype isn't always an option.
