17 Weeks Bumpdate

To my precious baby,

I'm 17 weeks right now and met with the midwife last Thursday. It's was Amiee who was the midwife that I saw with your brother. She is excited to see how this pregnancy and baby are after delivery. She told me that I'm the type of person that could end up delivering at home or in the car on the way to the hospital because of how Rex's delivery went. She made sure to point out how important it is to get checked right away if I think I might be in labor. It's really soon to be talking about labor signs because you are no where ready to come out but I guess it is important to know for when the time comes. The good thing with that is she thinks that my labor with you will be just as easy as it was with Rex. I'm happy about that!
I gained another pound or so this week. They said that's good. I have decided that I'm going to start doing some exercises this week because I'm having a lot of back pain already so I'm going to have to increase my calories. They said it would be OK if I wasn't gaining if I started exercising as long as you were growing good.
We have made our appointment for next month to find out if you are a boy or a girl. We are very excited. How ever we are not sharing the date with anyone because we are keeping it a secret until Rex's birthday. We have decided that will be the perfect time to announce it to everyone.
Friday night I think I finally felt you move for the first time! I'm very excited for this stage of the pregnancy. This seems like the longest time ever for me. With Rex I could feel him right away so waiting to feel you move has been a long time coming. Speaking of moving...I'm pretty sure you just did it again! I'm so excited!
I'm still having a hard time sleeping mostly because of back pain. I'm hoping between the exercising and my massage on Tuesday things will get better. I really need to get more sleep. I'm not having any food cravings. Supposedly that's good because you are getting everything that you need but the down side is that I don't want to eat anything. Everything just sounds blah and not appealing to me but I keep eating either way.
I'm so excited to see how this month goes. You are suppose to double in weight and grow which is why I should be able to feel you move and I can't wait. Next month will be exciting too as we plan your brother's 3rd birthday and get to find out if he's going to have a brother or a sister to meet him in July!
Mommy loves you!

Holiday Traditions?

I'm so excited to be co-hosting with Melissa! I have been a long time reader & finally got around to co-hosting! I can't wait to see all of your holiday traditions & I'm sure add a few to my list too! Holiday Traditions? What are those? I'm not sure we have any set up in our family. We never really had anything that we did every year growing up either. So I'm not surprised that we haven't thought about setting anything up for our kids either. Last year we tried doing the  Three Wise Men Gifts  but I of course bought more than just 3 gifts. So what is the plan this year for holiday traditions in our house? Bass Pro Shop Winter Wonderland to visit Santa Three wise men gifts  One Santa gift plus the stocking Baking cookies at Granny & Great Popa's house Baking cookies at Grandma & Popa's house with cousins & then heading to the local fire department & police station to share with the men & women that keep us safe throug

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
