Recovering Our Couch!

Hubby informed me that he didn't like our couch that we had about a month ago. So being a good wife I found another one at a garage sale, sent him pictures and got the go ahead to replace it. Well about 3 weeks later he told me that he didn't like that one either but he found one that he really loved and wanted to bring it home...with my permission.
Well I couldn't say no because the couch we had was hurting his back and he needs to be able to relax when he's home. The problem is that the couch he wanted to bring home was old and didn't really match what I wanted for our new house. So I agreed to bring it home if he would let me recover it. So I went and got the couch and brought it home. We headed to the store to "just look" at fabric and they were having a HUGE sale and we were able to get all our supplies for 50% off. We couldn't pass up on that deal so we moved forward and bought everything we needed and planned to work on the couch Sunday after church.
We started with the back because that was the easiest. Then it was on to the arms. That was a little more difficult. We were determined to not sew anything! Being that I can't sew it wasn't really an option. We used Hubby's staple gun and compressor for the whole project.
I LOVE how it turned out! I LOVE the fabric that we chose! I can't wait to see how it looks once we get our tiny house built and move this wonderful looking couch into it!  I know it will look great!
I also had some black fabric laying around and decided to use it to cover the used ottomans we bought. Leather is not a friend in the heat and the humidity so I was glad to have extra batting and fabric laying around. They actually look great next to the couch. Of course these won't be moving with us as we will be building our own storage/ottoman/dining stools for the tiny house. Gotta make every piece of furniture work for many things when you have limited space!

What do you think? Do you think we did a good job?

I can't wait to see all of your holiday traditions & I'm sure add a few to my list too! Holiday Traditions? What are those? I'm not sure we have any set up in our family. We never really had anything that we did every year growing up either. So I'm not surprised that we haven't thought about setting anything up for our kids either. Last year we tried doing the  Three Wise Men Gifts  but I of course bought more than just 3 gifts. So what is the plan this year for holiday traditions in our house? Bass Pro Shop Winter Wonderland to visit Santa Three wise men gifts  One Santa gift plus the stocking Baking cookies at Granny & Great Popa's house Baking cookies at Grandma & Popa's house with cousins & then heading to the local fire department & police station to share with the men & women that keep us safe throug

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
