Christmas Recap: Part Two!

I'm almost finished! One more post after this from Christmas and then it's on to the new year finally! My sister has many families to celebrate Christmas with so we always celebrate early. This year we started a new family tradition of baking cookies for the people that help our community.
Here we are delivering them to the paramedics!
Here we are at the fire department! They were so nice taking us to see the fire truck and giving all the kids plastic fire hats. They even pulled out the jaws of life and other tools they use. It was so much fun to see how excited they were to be appreciated and share what they do with the kids.
Then we headed to the police station! This was the first time that I have ever been in the back of a police station! It was really fun to see where the officers do their reports, training, and bring in the criminals to put them in the cells. Of course it was fun to get in the jail cell and get a picture too! The bars for this cell even have a story behind them...they came from the Denver jail when they remodeled it years ago (I think it was the 50's, I don't remember) and our city got them and put them up! Pretty cool!
Then we headed back had a small lunch and then opened presents! I think that the monster trucks from Aunt C's family were his favorite toys from the day.
My mom knew I wanted to have a family rules list hanging in our house but I hadn't ordered the one I made yet. I love it! It has great rules and we are talking each day about a new one and how we can follow it everyday. Plus how God expects it from us. I love the new conversations. When we have a bigger place I would like one that is much bigger but with our current space it works perfectly!
J loved the purses that we got her and was excited to keep her new Barbie stuff in them so they wouldn't get lost.
Monkey's absolute favorite gift from the day and maybe all of Christmas...his Spiderman PJ's! Grandma knew he would love them. He wore them several nights in a row before I finally had to make him wear something else.
D loved his huge super power Nerf gun from us. Look at that smile!
A is old enough to receive his first official gun from Uncle Hubby. It's a BB gun and he loved it. It took a hunter safety course earlier this year and loves shooting guns. He's super responsible about it and I love that he and Hubby can go shooting together and have some great male bonding time together!
This is a family tradition in our family started by Great Grandma (my grandma). Every year at Christmas she would put all the bows on her head. We did it growing up too! Now we put all the bows we can on the baby of the family. This might be the last baby picture with this tradition for quite some time because it looks like there will be no more grandkids in the family after Goose.
After presents but before dinner the boys headed outside to go shot the BB gun. Hubby had one himself so they were able to challenge each other. They both were really good.
And of course the big boys had to get in on it too ;)
Poor guy just couldn't take it any longer. Dinner is normally his favorite time of day but on our Christmas celebration he just had to sleep.
Our Christmas dinner table!
We have to have a kids table now because there are just to many of us but they had fun eating together!
This is part two of our three part Christmas recap! Read our decorating adventures here or just stop by to look at pictures! And come back tomorrow for our Christmas day festivities!

Day 2 of 31 Day to Clean

So I have told you the other day that I'm going to start 31 Days to Clean by Sara Mae. (For that post go to 31 days to clean post). So I'm finally on day 2 after several days in between. This will be the way it is for me because not everyday I will be able to tackle a big task, like day number 2, but I did it today and that is what counts. So what was day 2...clean the refrigerator and freezer (at least the Martha part) so that's what I did. I cleaned the refrigerator not that long ago but I figured I would just do it again and I'm glad. Just after about 2 months (maybe 3) it really needed cleaned again and I'm really happy that it looks really nice and I can find all the stuff that is in there again. I think that I'm going to put this on my To Do list every other month. I think that would be really helpful and that way it stays clean. I'm just going to put it in my day planner and when I have some free time on day I will do it that month. Sounds like a pl...

WEDDING! Part 2: The Day Of

**Warning more Picture overload!** I couldn't help it! WEDDING DAY! (August 6, 2005) On our wedding day I was so excited! I got ready at my parents house and J. and the guys got ready at our house. It was so much fun to get our hair done at a long time friends  hair salon .  After that we headed over to my parents house to start getting ready.    Everyone was busy getting me ready and many people were up my dress trying to get my 'fluff' to stay up so I didn't have to hold my dress us when walking.  My dad was kicked out of the house until I was done. I wanted him to get the whole sh-a-bang when he walked in. This was interesting. I had to climb into the truck but was not allowed to step on the tailgate and I couldn't see my feet. It was so funny! It looks like we were going fast but we really weren't but that's how we got to the park.  THE CEREMONY! After all that hard work to make it so I ...

Monkey's Surgery

So I finally downloaded pictures and I thought I'd share the cute pictures of my little boy after his surgery he had in April. No one should have surgery at 3 years old but poor little Monkey had to have his gallbladder removed due to his blood disorder called spherecytosis.  I had to stay in bed with him afterwards. He didn't want me to go anywhere. However, being pregnant made it so I had to use the bathroom quite often so luckily he was OK with Aunt Tiffany or Grandma holding his hand while I went. He hadn't been aloud to eat for almost 48 hours. He was starving! He ate almost the whole plate of pancakes and the nurses were shocked he could eat so much. They kept encouraging us to get him up and out of the room later in the afternoon after the surgery. So we headed out in the wagon first. He wasn't to happy about being moved and we made him walk a little bit in the room but he was glad to be out.  Granny and Great Po...
