Christmas Recap: Part Three

Christmas morning was really fun this year! Monkey was really excited and he actually understood about Santa so this was the first year that he visited. We let Monkey open his Santa gifts before breakfast and then did the rest afterwards. I think it was great doing it this way because he was entertained while waiting for breakfast but we weren't all starving while we opened presents.
Goose wasn't ready to be awake but I couldn't let him miss out on Christmas morning so I went ahead and woke him up. As you can tell by his poor little "why did you wake me up" face!
Monkey got a remote control car from Santa because that is what he asked for but he also brought him a bag of Chex Mix because he loves eating it with Popa. Can you guess what he was more excited for?
Goose opened his gifts from Santa too. He got 4 little board books to play with or really eat :)
Here's Monkey's with his remote control truck. It came with a trailer that tows a mustang, his favorite car. He played with it all morning!
This is after breakfast gifts. This was Goose's gift from Monkey. He thought they tasted yummy!
Monkey's big gift from us was a 3 foot 3D color yourself  project. Of course Mommy forgot to get markers from the store so we have yet to start it but I will post a picture of the finished project when we get it done.
This was Goose's favorite gift. He loves cuddling with the bear from Popa. He was so sleepy he didn't make it through all of presents. Popa got Monkey a bear when he was a baby too. Now they both have their own. A great thing for them to have later on.
Then we headed down to Granny's house (Hubby's grandparent's) and had lots of play time with cousins and then a great dinner. Hubby and the cousins were picking on each other and getting each other in trouble. A true holiday with family. Then we opened presents. The magnetic tiles from Granny I think are his all time favorite gift. He plays with them almost every day.
No he's not sleeping again although he looks like it. He was playing with his new bee that flashes, plays music, and vibrates while watching the cousins build things. He loves laying on the bee when it vibrates. I wonder if it feels good on his little teeth that I think are starting to bug him.
Okay...that's it! Our Christmas recap! Read part one here and part two here or as always just stop by and look at the pictures! That's what it comes down to sometimes when we are all busy mama's. Hope you all have a Christ centered Christmas that made 2012 end well!

Holiday Traditions?

I'm so excited to be co-hosting with Melissa! I have been a long time reader & finally got around to co-hosting! I can't wait to see all of your holiday traditions & I'm sure add a few to my list too! Holiday Traditions? What are those? I'm not sure we have any set up in our family. We never really had anything that we did every year growing up either. So I'm not surprised that we haven't thought about setting anything up for our kids either. Last year we tried doing the  Three Wise Men Gifts  but I of course bought more than just 3 gifts. So what is the plan this year for holiday traditions in our house? Bass Pro Shop Winter Wonderland to visit Santa Three wise men gifts  One Santa gift plus the stocking Baking cookies at Granny & Great Popa's house Baking cookies at Grandma & Popa's house with cousins & then heading to the local fire department & police station to share with the men & women that keep us safe throug

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
