29 Week Bumpdate

Dear Goose,

Finally after a month of craziness I'm able to write you another letter. The month of April was very hard on me but I did everything I could to care for you while caring for Daddy and Monkey. Thank goodness that Grandma and Popa care so much for all of us that they were willing to work just as hard to help out as I was.

Your Aunty M came out from Oklahoma to visit us right after Daddy went into the hospital and you were being so active I thought for sure she would be able to feel you move when she was here. Well that week you decided that you didn't want to move much or at least when she was around you would quit moving. She was able to come to the ultrasound appointment that was had and able to see you. Because Daddy was in the hospital and couldn't come they sent us home with a DVD so that way Daddy could see you too. He really enjoyed that. It helped him feel a little better that day. Of course we shared it with Granny and Great Popa and Grandma and Popa too. Everyone enjoyed seeing you and are excited to see you on the outside this summer.

After we found out about Monkey's surgery I had a panic attack and the doctors and I thought it was best for me to be monitored to make sure that I was causing labor to start. Once I got into the room and they hooked me up to the monitor you started moving around like crazy. You were moving some before but you were not happy to have the monitors in your space. You kept kicking the one monitor and it was making loud noises from your movement. At one point you even moved the monitor by pushing on it. Aunt Tiffany enjoyed watching my tummy bounce and move around. I called and talked to Daddy while I was hooked up and he was able to hear your heartbeat and hear the monitor getting kicked around. It made Daddy laugh to hear  you being such a stinker. We were very happy that you and I were both fine and I was able to relax and accept the situation and head back over to care for Monkey.

So the 6th month was pretty much skipped for letters. I did however get one picture finally that Popa helped me take.

How far along: 26 weeks in picture...29 weeks now.

How big you are: I'm not actually sure but I did find out that you are measuring at the 66% and that I'm measuring right at 29 weeks.

Weight Gain: Still gaining at a steady healthy pace. I met with the nutritionist today to get some better lunch ideas so I can eat some healthy things for lunch which I have been struggling to find. I'm going to try lunch meat again and see if it still makes me sick or if that was just a first trimester thing.

Maternity Clothes: I got a few new things to help last through the next few hot months. Plus a bathing suit that I'm not sure that I will wear in public but I will in the back yard pool with Monkey.

Stretch Marks: No new ones. Some might be getting a little bigger but so far just have the ones from Monkey.

Sleep: I'm needing more and more of it however it's not always easy. I'm most comfortable on my right side but you don't like it so I have to lay on my left. Plus when I wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night it's really hard for me to go back to sleep. I do try and sneak naps as often as I can but with Monkey and Daddy home and still trying to get everything ready and organized from the move I don't get a chance much. I'm trying to go to bed earlier but so far that hasn't been happening.

Movement: You move a lot at night. After Monkey goes to sleep I'm normally able to sit down and start relaxing and that's when you wake up and start moving around. Finally after Daddy being home now for 2+ weeks you finally moved for him. Every time he tried to feel you move you would stop.

Food Cravings: I really don't have any. Most things just sound OK to me. I'm not really wanting much of anything these days. I think that has been pretty consistent through this pregnancy.

Labor Signs:  None yet. Thank goodness. They will start checking me at 36 weeks.

Belly Button In or Out? In. It never came out with Monkey so we will see what happens with you.

Best Moment this Week: Daddy finally feeling you move again. Finding out that my blood pressure is still normal and not raising and knowing that you have moved to the head down position which makes me feel better about my natural birth plan.

What I Miss: I miss being able to bend down easy to pick things up and reach for things that are up high. I can't do that anymore because my belly always seems to be in the way. I either have to get a stool or ask someone for help.

Holiday Traditions?

I'm so excited to be co-hosting with Melissa! I have been a long time reader & finally got around to co-hosting! I can't wait to see all of your holiday traditions & I'm sure add a few to my list too! Holiday Traditions? What are those? I'm not sure we have any set up in our family. We never really had anything that we did every year growing up either. So I'm not surprised that we haven't thought about setting anything up for our kids either. Last year we tried doing the  Three Wise Men Gifts  but I of course bought more than just 3 gifts. So what is the plan this year for holiday traditions in our house? Bass Pro Shop Winter Wonderland to visit Santa Three wise men gifts  One Santa gift plus the stocking Baking cookies at Granny & Great Popa's house Baking cookies at Grandma & Popa's house with cousins & then heading to the local fire department & police station to share with the men & women that keep us safe throug

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
