Toddle Along Tuesday: What I love about Monkey

I'm linking up with Growing up Geeky with Toddle Along Tuesday. I love that there are themes to write about now. This week it is what you love about your child(ren).

Having a 2 year old that is full of energy there are some days I have to remind myself of all the things I love. Those days are normally pretty far apart and most days I can just look at him and melt.

So I love...
  • The way he always uses his manners. "Please" "Thank you" "Welcome" "God Bless You" and on we are still working on "Excuse Me"
  • When he curls up in bed and say "I want to cuddle" and before I leave his room he makes sure and says "I love you Mommy"
  • That he's so intuitive. He can tell what I'm feeling and cares about how I'm feeling too
  • That he enjoys spending time with his Popa so much
  • That he can find humor in almost anything
  • That he loves to read and will just go up to his room and spend hours just looking at books
  • That he is so excited about learning and loves preschool time
  • It when he prays. He still copy's what I say but he knows to start them with "Dear God" or "Dear Jesus" and end them with "Amen" and he always has a huge smile on his face during his prayers
  • That we are at an age where he's starting to potty train! Big milestone!
I think I could keep going and going. I think the most important thing that I love about Monkey is that he is so kind and has so much love for everyone and shows his family so much love at just 2 years old. I can see God being able to use him for some big things in his future.

I think tonight I'm going to send up an extra prayer of thanksgiving to God for giving me the child that I so longed for.

Thank you Toddle Along Tuesday for giving me a chance to sit down and really think about all the things I love about Monkey. It's always nice to remember why I work so hard every day.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different. We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...
