2 Boys Bedtime Routine

We have maybe finally figured out a bedtime routine with both boys. They share a room so there are some difficulties because they are both pretty light sleeps but I'm hoping this schedule will continue because it is just awesome! 7:30pm: Cleaning up toys (Time depends on how many toys are out). Goose nurses.   8:00pm: PJ's, potty and brush teeth for Monkey. PJ's and diaper for Goose    8:15pm: Story time. This includes several books. A fun library book, a learning library book, a book of Monkey's choice, a Goose board book, a chapter from The Magic Treehouse book series and a Bible story.   8:45pm: Prayers. Monkey doesn't like to pray so we all sit together and hold hands (Goose too until he gets to antsy. I try to pray for each member of our family, for good rest for the night and prayers over whatever our plans are for the next day, and then for anyone else that might need prayers that relate to the boys such as their friends. 9:00pm: Tuck them into thei

Poor Second Borns

Now that Goose is 4 months old I've been thinking about all the things that I was able to do with Monkey that just hasn't happened with Goose. Having two kids takes up a bunch of time! I'm sure that you know that if you are a parent to more than one child. I never really have a down moment because someone always wants my attention but there are also so many things that I want to do with both of them. There just isn't enough time in the day. So here are some things that Goose is missing out on and goals that I hope will help prevent it from continuing. Things Goose is missing out on: Reading stories Having a schedule Sleeping in his own bed One on one time with Mama Goals to help prevent this from happening: Get Goose on a schedule that works for the whole family Set up a bedtime routine Get him use to sleeping in his own bed Read more stories with and without Monkey Create one on one time with both boys weekly How have you figured out sharing time

WW: Newborn Pictures!!!!

It's time to share our wonderful newborn pictures taken by our favorite photographer at the local Target! She's great! She has taken pictures for us since I was pregnant with Monkey.  Our New Family!

Popa's Birthday

We just celebrated Popa's 60th birthday. We had a tie-dye and Hawaiian themed party! Yes I know they really don't go together but Popa loves dolphins and the oceans so we try and let him enjoy it as much as we can while living in CO. Then the tie-dye...Popa loves his tie-dye and all the grandkids think its fun to match him so we had them all wear their tie-dye shirts, yes even Goose already has one ;) Here's Monkey and Goose watching Dino Dan while waiting for everyone to show up. Monkey insisted that Goose sit on the couch with him but then he kept falling over on him so he wanted him off after a few minutes. The weather was great! It wasn't super hot but it was sunny and nice. Yep! We had to do all 60 candles! How else do you celebrate 60 years?!?! He got them all out with one blow but then the right side re-lit without being trick candles and he had to blow them out again. See the dolphins that are full of sugar...ya Monkey ate

Rockies Game

Go Colorado Rockies! Family photo opt with Dinger! Cousins A and D (J not pictured but there) Monkey of course! Cousin T Everyone got to meet Dinger and got a card signed by him. Goose actually got signed himself! Dinger signed his Colorado Rockies romper! That will be a family keepsake!

A Day with Auntie M

Auntie M is my sister-in-law who lives in OKC and we just love it when she comes to visit! This time she was able to bring her boys with her so all the cousins got to hang out for about two weeks together. They had a blast! Auntie M also comes up with fun things for us to do and this particular day was a full day of fun for free! (except for buying lunch) Here in CO we have a Littleton Museum...who knew? I have lived here for almost 30 years and I never knew! (Holy moly that just made me realize the I'm almost 30! Yikes!) This museum is much more fun than your traditional museum...why? Well because it is mostly outside with fun animals of course! What else do kids love more? They have two different eras that they show. First is a 1860's town which includes a farm with animals they would have raised, donkeys, cows, turkeys, sheep, chickens and a school house.  It was great being able to share things from the past with the kids. They th

Playing with Goose

Monkey just loves playing with Goose! This was taken the day we brought him home. Goose's first question asked, "Can he play cars with me?" He didn't quite grasp the fact that Goose can't play yet. So we laid him on the floor and Monkey played cars and even showed Goose the cars and told them the names of them. Super cute! The first night home I wanted Monkey to have some special Mommy time so I figured reading a story before bed would be perfect. I went to give Goose to Daddy but Monkey wanted him to hear the story too. So Daddy was able to take cute photos instead! A few days later Monkey wanted to read Goose his dinosaur book. He asked me to put him on the floor so he could read to him. Of course I just had to do it. It was just to cute to pass up, plus I had no reason to not do it! Monkey is a great big brother!
