This is the current project I'm working on for my new Esty shop ! I get asked every year from many family members what I think my boys would like for Christmas gifts. In reality they don't need anything. We are so blessed to have everything they need and then some. We have toys and clothes overflowing most of the time. So this year I thought I would try to look at toys, books, ect. and make a list that would help guide everyone to what we are looking for this season that my boys will use. I think it's very important for toys to be things we will actually use and I think that learning toys are always important too. Monkey actually prefers toys that he can learn from but he also enjoys board games or books. So here is my list. For Monkey's birthday he got a fish tank from Grandma and Popa. Since we were going through some  crazy times  we decided that we would wait until M could be home to go with us to get the stuff for the tank and the fish. This way, even though he missed the party (I did too), he could enjoy watching Monkey pick out and set it all up.  Petsmart helped us pick out what type of fish would be the best for 'first' fish. They said that they would probably die quickly because of it being a new tank but we are 2 weeks ago today and they are still here. We are questioning how much longer Casper (the white fish) will make it. He doesn't seem to be doing so well. Spike (the orange fish) seems to be doing well although he's not happy that his friend is sick. I'm thinking we might head to the store this week and get another friend for him just in case.  Anyway, Monkey picked out which fish he wanted and then we came home and once they were in the tank we wanted...

Now that it is December I can start thinking about what Christmas traditions we want to have for our family. With Monkey getting older he can start to understand what Christmas is all about. I want to make sure that we aren't easily swept up in all the gift giving and the commercialization that our culture has for Christmas. Even though M is not a 'believer' at the moment he has always said that if we celebrate Christmas he wants to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. I'm thankful for this because it gives me a chance to bring Christ into our home! We don't have any traditions set up from my childhood so we are able to be open to anything we want. One thing that we do is make Christmas cookies at M's grandparents house the day after Thanksgiving. So I know this is a little late but I finally got the hubby's father's day gift finished and I made another one for my mom as well. I made them each their own "Junk Food Bucket". I think they are so cute.  This is a Heritage Makers project that came out for Father's Day and I just loved the idea. You can put fabric or ribbon on the handle but I decided not to do it because the hubs would really want that and my mom probably wouldn't want it either. Now it's just time to fill them up with some junk food I have around the house and I will be gifting them tomorrow.  I gotta say I love Heritage Makers  and the different things I can do with it! They have a kinds of great gift ideas!

So I can't help but share this! I'm so excited! I'm not sure that I'm don yet but I love what I have done and I just have to share with everyone what I have created. These are   Rex's ABC's & 123's  cards that I made on Heritage Makers. I have to give credit to  Raising Might Arrows  for the idea. I have been so frustrated with the ABC cards in the store because not all the letters are right (like a is the computer a instead of the way we teach kids to write it) and I have thought about just making my own but then when I saw the one's that Raising Mighty Arrows created with the Bible verses to go along I knew that I had to make them. I really hope that you take a look and see what I did! So the cards are a deck of playing cards that  Heritage Makers  sells and I think they will be perfect! Yesterday the hubs left once again heading out to work. Since we have been dropping him off at the airport Monkey has been doing great with understanding that Daddy has to leave again for work. Before he left this time we bought a recordable book from Hallmark. Hubby recorded it and I locked it (which was a good thing because the first thing Monkey did was push the buttons that would have erased it all) and now that book has to go every where with him and if he puts it some where it can not be moved. His "Daddy Book" as he calls it is currently upstairs with him in bed. I think that it was worth the $30 so Monkey can hear his Daddy's voice whenever he wants to. Next time Hubby is home we plan to make some video of Daddy reading books with Money and playing with him so that he can see his Daddy whenever he wants to because Skype isn't always an option.
