Here We Go Again!

So I started this post 15 days ago when I completed day one of Bikini Body Mommy and I just couldn't get the words out to finish the post and get it out. I competed day two and still couldn't get the words to finish. Then came day 10 when I was so grateful that I didn't end up posting about my workouts because I had only completed 2 days! Then during day 10's guilt I was texting with my workout buddy from Colorado. We both knew we needed to be working out. We both decided that we were going to make the commitment to the BBM community again. And then we both failed miserably. So on day 10 she tells me she's joining a Diet Bet  to help her stay committed to making the changes she needed. We talked a lot about it and I decided to bring it up to Hubby. I needed his support in making this decision to spend money on a bet that would hopefully keep me committed to making changes. Thirty dollars isn't a lot of money but it is enough money to be missed when we are ...

Trim Healthy Mama Update

So it's been a few months of trying to figure out this Trim Healthy Mama thing. During this time Hubby decided he wanted to try a food rotation to help heal his eczema. We started a four day food rotation that I got from my friend Stacey . We started and lived it for a few weeks. Stacey found it to be less stressful and made meals much easier for her and her family. For me it was the complete opposite. I hated it! I couldn't make anything that I wanted and Hubby was struggling with giving up several items that had mixing day ingredients. So instead we decided to go gluten free. So that's where we are right now. Lucky for us there is a THM Allergy facebook page . They have been so helpful to me in picking things that will not only help me with my own health goals but will help Hubby in his health goal of healing his skin. The best part is that if we have to give up dairy and/or eggs as well there are plenty of people living that same lifestyle that will help guide me t...

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...

Week #1 on THM

It has been a great week! We have really enjoyed our food and trying new and healthy recipes! The first week on Trim Healthy Mama  are full of successes and trials! I'm still so proud of myself for trying so hard! So far my successes have been... I meal planned the WHOLE week! Every meal! Not including snacks but I had an idea of what I had available for snacks so I was prepared all week when the 3 hours came around to eat again! I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a local THM group that met for a potluck and I'm so glad I did! I learned so much and we are even going on a shopping trip this weekend to learn what to buy where for the best deals! How awesome is that!  I ate on time, every 3 hours, once I learned how very important this was from the potluck dinner. I started my mornings off right with a quick shake or overnight oatmeal and then enjoyed a normal egg breakfast 3 hours later. I did my best with changes in our schedule and plans. When I meal planned I...

Starting March off Right...Almost

My plan was to start off March with a bang and make sure that I'm making good habits  instead of the bad one's I've been stuck in again! I have several things I'm working on but March was going to be my "On Plan 99% of Time" month for Trim Healthy Mama . I wanted to meal plan, prep and maybe even get some meals put in the freezer so I could pull them out on busy days but then this happened... Snow days here in OK are different then CO because they don't care for the roads the same way CO does with magcloride and it's warmer here so the snow first turns to ice and then it gets covered up with snow as the temperature drops. So with all that said...no grocery shopping today :(  My hope is that I can get out tomorrow late morning and hit the stores before the crowd. I won't be going to church because I'm not going to drive that far but the grocery store will be a must. Plus if I can hit the grocery store during regular church times then the...

Trim Healthy Mama Beginning

Have you heard of  Trim Healthy Mama ? I hadn't either until just a few months ago. But I knew I was going to be ordering the book and it worked out that I was able to ask for it as a Christmas gift instead of purchasing it myself. When I first saw it I was very intimidated! It's a HUGE book! But once you dive in you see why...it's packed full of information but written in a way that is easy to read. I think if they would have taken out much of the "conversation" then the book would have been fewer pages however it would have been really difficult to read. So I want to start right away even though I have to read first so I searched for and overview of the plan. And I found  one ! This gave me a little idea. I have also been talking to a good friend that has taken me under her wing to help me through the journey of this parenting, homeschooling, country living that I'm trying to figure out. What she has said has followed right along side what I'm learn...
