Starting March off Right...Almost

My plan was to start off March with a bang and make sure that I'm making good habits instead of the bad one's I've been stuck in again! I have several things I'm working on but March was going to be my "On Plan 99% of Time" month for Trim Healthy Mama. I wanted to meal plan, prep and maybe even get some meals put in the freezer so I could pull them out on busy days but then this happened...
Snow days here in OK are different then CO because they don't care for the roads the same way CO does with magcloride and it's warmer here so the snow first turns to ice and then it gets covered up with snow as the temperature drops. So with all that said...no grocery shopping today :(

My hope is that I can get out tomorrow late morning and hit the stores before the crowd. I won't be going to church because I'm not going to drive that far but the grocery store will be a must. Plus if I can hit the grocery store during regular church times then the stores won't be to busy. I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully I won't have to put off my plans for a few days while I wait for the weather to change. Hopefully I can still start everything tomorrow. I'm going to make these changes! Just being on plan about 50% of the time for the month of February I lost 6 pounds and that includes eating a complete Blue Bell container of ice cream in 2 1/2 days. See bad habits! I ate it because I wasn't feeling good about how I have been as a mom and homemaker so ice cream had to be eaten to help. This habit has to break and quickly!

I'd love to hear about your beginnings with THM and/or maybe what you will be doing to stick to plan! Having a support team makes things much easier!

  1. Yes, good job for starting March off right! How's it going so far?!
I feel the same need for some change this month, but instead in regard to my grocery bill. I MUST go to the cheaper store (Trader Joe's) even though it's SOO much farther than the other stores I like to go to (Sprouts). I can literally cut our grocery bill by about 40% when I use solely Trader Joe's! Which rocks because they're much healthier in my opinion (especially when you can't eat all the goodies that they set out at eye level for you to be tantalized by the whole time!) So yay, we can both DO it! Rah rah, Kari!

Baby Bumpdate: Week 35

35 Weeks! That means only 5 left!!!! Holy cow!!! I think I'm starting to freak out just a little!!! How far along? 35 Weeks! Yea! How big is baby?  He's about 18 inches and just over 5 pounds. Weight gain? I gained a pound last week. Maternity Clothes?  Of course. I'm living in tanks right now because of the heat. Just wish I had more shorts to wear. Stretch Marks?  Nothing new. Just the ones from before and Monkey. Sleep? With this cold I'm not sleeping much. I'm getting a little better and able to sleep about 4 to 6 hours at night and then at nap time I'm able to get 1 or 2 more hours of sleep. However, I'm still exhausted especially because of the heat. It just drains all my energy. Even when I'm sitting in the shade under a fan. Of course it's only June so I'm not sure how this heat thing will effect me in July :/ Best Moment this Week?  Monkey kissing my belly before he went down for a nap. It was so cute. He ...

Media Monday: How it affects my child

Media is neither good or bad. Last week I talked about media in our marriage and a little bit about our family and media but today is all about Rex and media. Rex loves cartoons! Right now he happens to be watching Veggie Tales while eating lunch. This is not a normal thing at all. I can't remember the last time he was eating while watching TV. Today we had a crazy time and he asked to watch a movie and I didn't have a problem with it. Plus it's Veggie Tales.  We have a limit (during mommy in charge time) that he is only allowed to watch one movie/TV show each day and some days we don't watch anything. When daddy gets home things change and the TV is on within minutes of being home. Rex normally doesn't care that the TV is on because of our daily activities. He plays or helps me cook unless daddy is watching adult cartoons then he is more interested.  This past winter I found us watching more TV than I planned ever to let my children watch. So once it start...

The ABC's of Our Family

I got a great idea from this lovely  blog  about doing a ABC photo book through out the year. Each week taking one photo that goes along with a letter. I have seen lots of great ideas for different photo blog ideas but all seem like to much work and something that I know I wouldn't be able to do. This one seems reasonable for our crazy life.  So to start off I have chose a great picture that I took of Rex and M playing together one day when he got home from work. Rex is so ADORABLE in this picture I just knew this was what I had to use! Plus I already know what I'm using for next week even though the picture hasn't been taken yet.  So here it is.......ADORABLE Rex playing with his Daddy! Oh I just can't get enough of this guy. Also as a little side note to how adorable he is...he kept posing for the camera once I got. He didn't care that Mommy was watching him play and wouldn't even look at me but soon as the camera was out he had to keep turning and...
