Boys Christmas List

I get asked every year from many family members what I think my boys would like for Christmas gifts. In reality they don't need anything. We are so blessed to have everything they need and then some. We have toys and clothes overflowing most of the time. So this year I thought I would try to look at toys, books, ect. and make a list that would help guide everyone to what we are looking for this season that my boys will use. I think it's very important for toys to be things we will actually use and I think that learning toys are always important too. Monkey actually prefers toys that he can learn from but he also enjoys board games or books. So here is my list.
For Goose
(this list was hard because really what does a 5 month old baby need?)
1.) Fisher Price Growing Baby Animal Activity Puzzle
Monkey loves puzzles & I think that they are fun learning toys. I never knew they made puzzles for little guys like Goose but I would love to start introducing puzzles to him so he can find a love for them as well!

I had to add this one too! Why? Both Daddy & Popa are contractors so they use tools all the time! Monkey has a big tool bench that he plays with so I think it's only fair if Goose has his own tools too!

3.) Playskool Poppin' Park Elefun Busy Ball Popper - Blue
We had a ball popper for Monkey when he was little he loved it. I know that Monkey would really enjoy playing with his brother with this elephant. I'm not quite sure that Goose is old enough for it yet but he'd always grow into it!
4.) Momo Baby Soft Sole Baby Shoes - Airplane Brown (6-12 months)
I just think these are adorable & he needs to have shoes to wear during these cold winter months.

I love this toy! I think that he would enjoy playing with the bugs & make them make all their noises. Plus it will help him start developing those all important fine motor skills!

Another workbench! Some of the same reasons I listed above for a workbench however this one makes noise & teaches things as well.

Sorting blocks are always fun! It's bright colors of course will draw his attention. The problem with this toy...I think we have a shape sorter however I have packed all the toys away & I'm not sure if it is something that we kept or gave away.

I have more gift ideas for Goose here although it is nothing compared to the list I have for Monkey. I mean seriously what does a 5 month old really need?

For Monkey
1.) Giant Kids Car Play Rug
One of Monkey's favorite toys to play with is cars & his dinosaurs. Having a rug to drive his cars on & a town for his dinosaurs to stomp on would keep him busy for hours. Another great gift idea that I think would get used a bunch!

2.) Melissa & Doug Wooden Shape Sorting Clock
Again with Monkey loving time right now I think a clock would be great! He is always asking me what time is it or saying we are doing this at 1:00 o'clock. Just last night while in bed reading stories he says "It's 1:00 o'clock?" Of course we don't go to bed then so I told him the correct time of 8:30.

3.) Melissa & Doug Deluxe Magnetic Calendar
Monkey is getting very interested in time. He wants to know what day it is & what we are doing that day. I think this will be a fun calendar that he can help care for himself while learning about the days &  months. I really think he would enjoy this.

4.) The Imagination Station Series Books
Monkey loves reading the Magic Treehouse books which are great but these books are Christian based so I would love to own this series to read over and over to the boys!

Monkey loves painting! He uses water colors all the time. I think he might find it fun to be able to use finger paints to create some fun pictures. But he would always love more water colors as well.

6.) Melissa & Doug Triangular Crayon Set
Monkey is learning how to hold crayons the proper way & I love that these will help him. Right now one of his favorite things to do is go in his room and "Do Work" which could be coloring in a coloring book or practicing his letters & shapes. He loves it! I know these will be a big hit!

7.) Dinosaur (The Movie)
He loves this movie. We use to borrow it from Grandma Sheila but we weren't able to get it before she passed away & I know it would mean a lot to both of us if we were able to own it.

There are more ideas that I have for Monkey or would like for him here if you are interested in seeing more ideas

By no means do I think my boys need all of these!
I just like giving suggestions and letting you have some choice in what you pick to get them. I have linked all of the toys to amazon to make ordering them easy. I'm not sure if they are at local stores or not. I hope this helps you all with gifts for the boys! Have fun!

Curious to see what I would like for Christmas this year? Check it out here.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different. We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...
