Workout Program with Spark People

I had never heard of Spark People until my awesome neighbor talked to me about it. She thought it would be a great addition to our workout program we are starting. I'm so excited to have a wonderful Christ centered person to work out with and be accountable too!

So first a little information about our workout plan. First before every workout we are praying for our strength to keep going with our plan, to keep our bodies strong, and to be able to get to a healthy weight so that we can be the woman God called us to be. Then we start our work out with no less than 5 days a week. We both have kids and other things going on that may prevent every day work outs but we would like to do everyday when possible. We will have weekly weigh in's and monthly measurements to track our progress. We are starting with the Slim in 6 DVD's and hope that they work out for us. I have a goal to lose 60 pounds by April 3rd 2012 because it's my birthday and what better way to celebrate than a shopping spree for new clothes! However I understand that this is a hard goal to reach so if I am unable to meet it but I'm maintaining working out 5 times a week and eating healthy than I will be fine with finishing my goal on August 28th 2012 as that is my 1 year mark. I don't want to set goals that are unattainable so that's why I figure if I'm doing what I'm suppose to be doing and I don't make it than pushing it out to a more attainable goal is just fine.

Our next part in our plan is eating healthy. We are tracking our calories and watching our portion sizes so that we are consuming the amount of food to keep ourselves healthy as well as lose the weight we want. I'm so excited but shocked at the amount of calories I was eating. No wonder I was gaining weight and not losing anything.

Spark People is an awesome tool to help with this! It gives us a way to track our workouts and the calories we burn each day plus it calculates all the food we eat too. Just type it in and there it is ready to be added up to my daily total. I love it!

Another things that I plan on doing is that on my vacation, that is fast approaching, I'm going to watch what I'm eating and just because I can order 2 whole meals at each meal does not mean that I have too. Or the fact that I can have several desserts. I'm going to resist. I also want to not lose my  momentum that I have right now so I plan on incorporating a workout in the work out room or on the jogging track. I think that doing this on the days we don't have something planned or spending all day walking around will continue to help me at the very least not gain anything while I'm gone!

When I return we plan on starting the Made to Crave book together and do a book study during the days so we can incorporate God into it even more. We know that we can not do this alone and even though we are working together on our goal we know that without His strength we will not be able to accomplish it. I'm excited to be able to read this book again and complete it this time. I just had so much going on it felt like I couldn't do it. Now I will be able to go through it with someone else and have someone to help keep me accountable and pray with me when I'm struggling.

That's our plan for now. We took pictures but I'm not ready to share mine. I might once I start seeing progress made but here is an idea of a starting point. This is one of the only pictures that I'm in for the last 6 months.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different. We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...
