Garden and Sandbox

So every year my dad has planted a garden as long as I can remember. Last year Rex was a little young to really help but not this year. Popa and Grandma were busy planting a vegetable garden and flowers and Rex was all about helping.
Popa showing Rex how to use his new garden shovel. (Lowe's had this awesome kid size but real shovels, rake and hoe and Rex has them all. He will be a gardener when he gets older).
Shoveling dirt for Grandma so she can plant her flowers.
Carrying the flowers from the porch to Grandma in the garden.
His first worm. I'm so glad he's able to do these things with others because I'm not one to pick up worms or bugs so Thank You to everyone that helps Rex be the boy he needs and wants to be so Mommy doesn't have to!
We wanted to get Rex a sandbox or something fun to do outside at Popa's house because he always goes to the far side of the house where there is dirt to dig and of course we can't see him over there. Popa decided that he would build on instead because he had extra wood laying around and he could make it the size and shape he wanted. Plus it would be one of those stupid small ones that barely fits one kid when he has 4 grand kids (with the hopes of more).
Of course Rex had to be in the middle of it all and help. He was the screw guy. He would get a screw from the bucket or from Daddy and then had the screw to Popa. Yes it made the project last forever but Rex really enjoyed it and we got some great photos too.
He was so excited to ride in the wheelbarrowland it was so cute how Miah helped him. Maih would tip the wheelbarrow up slowly and Rex would scoot down and 'fall'. Then Miah would fill it with sand and put him on top. When they got to the back he would lift him out and dump the sand. Then he would hold the wheelbarrow up again and Rex would climb in. By the time they were finished with the sand Rex had it down perfectly.
So cute!
He was so excited to play in it and the phone call the next day from Popa was worth it all. He called to say he found sand everywhere in his house. His chair, table, even the kitchen counter tops. Who knows how it got there. This was a fun weekend for us and so glad that Rex now has a place to dig!

Holiday Traditions?

I'm so excited to be co-hosting with Melissa! I have been a long time reader & finally got around to co-hosting! I can't wait to see all of your holiday traditions & I'm sure add a few to my list too! Holiday Traditions? What are those? I'm not sure we have any set up in our family. We never really had anything that we did every year growing up either. So I'm not surprised that we haven't thought about setting anything up for our kids either. Last year we tried doing the  Three Wise Men Gifts  but I of course bought more than just 3 gifts. So what is the plan this year for holiday traditions in our house? Bass Pro Shop Winter Wonderland to visit Santa Three wise men gifts  One Santa gift plus the stocking Baking cookies at Granny & Great Popa's house Baking cookies at Grandma & Popa's house with cousins & then heading to the local fire department & police station to share with the men & women that keep us safe throug

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
