Tiny House Progress: Framing

We have made so much progress on the tiny house! It feels like it is finally coming together. Like it might actually happen and become our reality! We couldn't be more excited. But because I have been a big slacker with sharing updates here with you it's going to take a few post so that I can share lots of the progress with pictures. So here's we go from where we last left off. Don't remember what I last shared because it's been so long? Ya me too! Check out the foundation and the floor plan because apparently I have written about anything else!

So the next step was to get the framing of the walls built. Thanks to the wonderful baby growing inside me and the fact that I have never in my life built a wall before I got to sit back and watch Hubby do all the work. I enjoyed watching the boys play and 'help' and reading on my kindle in the shade. Since Hubby has built walls before he was able to get the whole house framed in ONE day! It's paying off to have someone who know contracting doing all the work for us!

Goose is always the one that wants to help the most. Monkey this week was all about school and worksheets. He has been done with kindergarten now for awhile but he never finished a workbook I bought him from Wal-Mart. He was determined to get it done because he thought he couldn't do first grade work until it was finished. He worked next to me on the shaded patio while I was reading.

So we changed up our floor plan again! I don't think we can do much more changing now because we have come so far. But originally the boys were going to have a loft sleeping area separate from the baby. So we framed everything up for that floor plan. Monkey was so excited to go climb up the ladder and see his new sleeping area. He had so many mixed emotions! But excited and fear of being so high seemed to shine through the most. But now there is not loft bedroom just a normal bedroom with loft beds so the baby can sleep under them.

So the framing was done and we started to sheet the outside structure. Progress was coming along and quickly too!

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
