How We Found Out This Time

So with my pregnancy with Rex I had almost no symptoms and that's part of why it took me 6 months to know that I was pregnant. (My Pregnancy Story) Well with this one I had my first ultrasound when I was only 5 weeks. I already had and still have breast tenderness. This is actually horrible. It's so bad that wearing a bra hurts but not wearing one hurts even worse. Then I was nauseated. M's Grandpa had gotten a bug while we were staying with them so I just thought it was that until we got home and it didn't go away.

This is when I figured it wouldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test. I really wasn't expecting it to come out positive because I was getting close to starting (I have PCOS so it's never regular but I can normally guess around the time) and I also had the IUD in. All the odds were against the test coming out positive but nope that's not how it turned out.

The morning of November 29th I woke up really early, like 5am, and really had to pee. I decided I would take a test just to make sure. So I pee and sit and wait. I didn't have to wait very long. They pregnancy line came up faster than the not pregnant line. I was in total shock! Seriously just kinda looked at it and giggled.

So I had to go wake up M and tell him the news. He is not a morning person but I didn't care I couldn't wait for another hour or two for him to get up.

So I went in our room and said, "So, ummmm...I took a pregnancy test...and well it's positive!" (Still a little in shock.)
M says, "So your knocked up?"
"Yep."
"Can I go back to sleep now?"
Me thinking "Sure go right ahead I just didn't give you life altering news right now." But what I really say is "Sure but I can't sleep now."

So I go down stairs and try to figure out who would be up so early that I could share thus news with. The answer is no one so I played on the internet while waiting for the time to pass.

I first call Aunt Cathy. I figure she has kids they have to be getting ready for school by now and we had spent a lot of time together while we were staying at M's grandparents. Well she doesn't answer. So I call my dad. No answer.  Then I call my sister in law because she lives in a different time zone and she's an hour ahead of us. Well she answers the phone and she's not up but since I woke her I tell her the news anyway. She's excited but tired so I let her go back to sleep. (M's family could sleep for 22 hours a day I swear I wish I had that gene.) My dad calls back while I'm talking to her so I call back and share the news and he's excited. After we talk for a few I tell him to have mom call me as soon as she gets up.

When I talk to my mom she gives me the idea of waiting to tell everyone until Christmas. I think it's not a bad idea and would make a great Christmas present for M's grandparents because they really want us to have another one. I also didn't plan on telling them until after I knew the IUD was out and I was safe from that causing a miscarriage.

So that's how I found out! I actually have pregnancy symptoms but not bad enough that I'm puking my brains out (Thank goodness!).

My Pregnancy Story with Monkey

So I have one of those crazy "I didn't know I was pregnant" stories. Yes I didn't know I was pregnant until I was pretty far along but I will get to that.  In May 2008 we picked up and moved out of state. At this time we had been completely off birth control for 2 years and nothing. We also found out when we first started trying that I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)  which basically meant "good luck getting pregnant". We decided that we would start the adoption process if we were not pregnant by the time we were 30 so we had a few years (still do actually! Yeah God!) So we were just enjoying life in Oklahoma and enjoying the small town life. Every Sunday morning we would walk down the street and enjoy breakfast at Selena's, we'd sit on our front porch and talk with the neighbors, and visit family in town at least once a week. Starting close to October I started feeling like something was wrong with me so I went to the OU campus in Tu
