Well today we have finally made out house plans official. We've been back and forth on what we wanted to do but not anymore. We made this move to Oklahoma to get a large enough piece of land to have a HUGE garden area along with cows, chickens, and maybe even some pigs. But we didn't want to do this by attaining a lot of debt in the process.
So as you may have heard in November right before we made our trip back to Colorado for the holidays we bought just under 10 acres of land south east of Oklahoma City. It's amazing land and I'm sure as spring is starting to arrive we are going to fall even more in love with it. We have been spending many weekends out there cutting trees down, burning brush and digging dirt to start making progress on where we want to put our house. Of course we hadn't decided what exactly that house was going to be or how we were going to get it. We just knew we wanted it up on the beautiful hill.
So after looking at used mobile homes that we would remodel, new mobile homes that would put us in debt that we want to be in, building our house out of a metal building, etc. we finally have decided that none of the above was the best answer for us.
We have drawn up these basic plans to start with and we are loving the layout. We will actually have more main living space than we do right now! How crazy is that! Plus my kitchen is going to be larger than the little on we have now.
Come back and see the progress we make over the next few months as we set out to build our tiny house and move it to our property! Like our Facebook Page to make sure you don't miss anything!

Hubby has been looking on Craigslist daily for something that would be perfect for our needs and this is what he found. It us to be a RV now it's just a 40 foot trailer. This is all we have to start with. Can you guess what we are doing? If you have Netflix and like to watch documentaries you might have figured it out. Yes, we are building our very own 'Tiny' house. Although not as tiny as these tiny houses. Our trailer is 40 feet long and it was FREE! So we have only spent about $100 on jacks and gas to get this large trailer. And Hubby's truck is big enough to tow it even after we are done building it! Another score!
Hubby is doing lots of online researching on how to build it, the best materials to use, etc and I'm doing a lot of research on storage ideas for a small space as well as creative ways to multi-purpose as many items as possible. And of course decorating ideas too!We have drawn up these basic plans to start with and we are loving the layout. We will actually have more main living space than we do right now! How crazy is that! Plus my kitchen is going to be larger than the little on we have now.
We currently are getting the rest of the RV floor removed from the trailer and collecting building materials. Then the next step is to get the trailer sanded down where there is some surface rust and then coat it with a sealer. After that we will have to get trailer brakes installed. Then it will be time to start building! We can't wait to get started!
