Finding Out the Sex

So M and I are in a debate about finding out what the sex of this baby is. With Rex we decided it was better to find out since we only had three months to plan for everything. With this one I really want it to be a surprise. M wants to find out.

I want a surprise because with Rex everything worked out find even though he came out a boy instead of a girl like they said. I see no reason to find out what we are having. We have almost all the baby stuff we need, except for a new stroller and a car seat. I don't see a need to know and think that keeping it for a surprise (as long as the baby cooperates with us) will just add to the birth experience. I remember the surprise of Rex being a boy and how fun it was to find out when he came out. It was also fun in that case because he was born the day before April Fools day and no one wanted to believe that we were telling the truth.

M doesn't really have a reason for finding out. He just wants to know. I know that it will be some extra work to get both our girl and boy baby clothes cleaned and folded and ready to go. (Yes we have both already. We didn't get rid of everything that was bought for Rex when we thought we were having a girl). But still how much work is it really to wash and fold maybe two loads of laundry?

What are your thoughts? Did you wait and be surprised or did you have to find out? Why did you choose what you chose? Have any advice one way or the other? Help us figure out this debate because neither one of us is backing down on our sides.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different. We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...
