Proverbs 2 Bible Study

Every week on Tuesday I have a Bible study group I attend for the mom's group that I am in. I love going and talking through what I learned this week and learning even more from what other people learned from the Scripture. This gave me an idea...I would share with my blog readers what I learn each week on Tuesday.

Right now we are studying Proverbs! This week Proverbs 2!

My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
Turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding,
and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds victory in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair-every good path.
For wisdom will enter you heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.
Proverbs 2:1-11

Two weeks ago (we missed a week because all the kiddos were sick) I was really struggling through some issues that I have yet to share through my blog. I'm just not ready to share it all but either way know that my family is going through a tough time right now. Proverbs 1 threw me for a loop and it made my struggling even worse. Well thank goodness I have my group of lovely ladies that I was able to talk it through with.

Proverbs 2, however, is the opposite! It gave me so much hope! What I took from the passage above is that if I search and search for God and his wisdom then he is going to be there for me! How great is that??? Seeking after God will give me the knowledge I need for life, it will help me chose the right path for me to take, and God will be with me every step of the way.

Being married to M as a non-believer is really hard for me for several reasons but one of the major ones is that he is suppose to be the leader of the house. He is suppose to direct my family to the path that God wants us on. I know that either path we are on God will be with us because I'm praying and learning what God wants from me. He wants me to be a devoted wife and mother and to show M Jesus' love through my actions. It's not an easy job. I struggle with it most days but days that I spend in the Word make it that much easier. God gives me the strength to follow M no matter where he leads us.

This passage is going to always be marked as one of my favorites because I feel it can give me hope in any situation. I hope that you can find the hope and encouragement that I see in the verse. Next week will be Proverbs 3! I can't wait to see what I learn and discover about God through it!

  1. I'm sorry you are going through a hard time. Remember that God has plans to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11) that would be really hard to be married to a non believer as the husband should be the spiritual leader of the family. You are completely right to keep showing him christs love through your actions. I'm glad you have your small group. We are part of a small couples study group and I LOVE it.

Day 2 of 31 Day to Clean

So I have told you the other day that I'm going to start 31 Days to Clean by Sara Mae. (For that post go to 31 days to clean post). So I'm finally on day 2 after several days in between. This will be the way it is for me because not everyday I will be able to tackle a big task, like day number 2, but I did it today and that is what counts. So what was day 2...clean the refrigerator and freezer (at least the Martha part) so that's what I did. I cleaned the refrigerator not that long ago but I figured I would just do it again and I'm glad. Just after about 2 months (maybe 3) it really needed cleaned again and I'm really happy that it looks really nice and I can find all the stuff that is in there again. I think that I'm going to put this on my To Do list every other month. I think that would be really helpful and that way it stays clean. I'm just going to put it in my day planner and when I have some free time on day I will do it that month. Sounds like a pl...

WEDDING! Part 2: The Day Of

**Warning more Picture overload!** I couldn't help it! WEDDING DAY! (August 6, 2005) On our wedding day I was so excited! I got ready at my parents house and J. and the guys got ready at our house. It was so much fun to get our hair done at a long time friends  hair salon .  After that we headed over to my parents house to start getting ready.    Everyone was busy getting me ready and many people were up my dress trying to get my 'fluff' to stay up so I didn't have to hold my dress us when walking.  My dad was kicked out of the house until I was done. I wanted him to get the whole sh-a-bang when he walked in. This was interesting. I had to climb into the truck but was not allowed to step on the tailgate and I couldn't see my feet. It was so funny! It looks like we were going fast but we really weren't but that's how we got to the park.  THE CEREMONY! After all that hard work to make it so I ...

Monkey's Surgery

So I finally downloaded pictures and I thought I'd share the cute pictures of my little boy after his surgery he had in April. No one should have surgery at 3 years old but poor little Monkey had to have his gallbladder removed due to his blood disorder called spherecytosis.  I had to stay in bed with him afterwards. He didn't want me to go anywhere. However, being pregnant made it so I had to use the bathroom quite often so luckily he was OK with Aunt Tiffany or Grandma holding his hand while I went. He hadn't been aloud to eat for almost 48 hours. He was starving! He ate almost the whole plate of pancakes and the nurses were shocked he could eat so much. They kept encouraging us to get him up and out of the room later in the afternoon after the surgery. So we headed out in the wagon first. He wasn't to happy about being moved and we made him walk a little bit in the room but he was glad to be out.  Granny and Great Po...
