10 minutes a day

So I talk about God and things that I do to help include Him in my life but I know that I'm not doing nearly enough. I know that I need to spend more time in His Word and in prayer with Him but I have many reasons for not doing it. Not good one's but reasons none the less. So I have decided to over come my fear and quit making excuses and I'm spending no less that 10 minutes a day in the Bible. Today was day one. I got up earlier than the rest of the family are started reading Romans. Why Romans I don't really have a reason besides the fact that someone told me it was their new favorite book. Today I have gotten so much accomplished and felt at peace about so many things because of this. Also the Lord showed me several verses that I wouldn't think of putting together that ended up making complete sense in my life right where I'm at now. I think that is so amazing. I love how He does that.
So today I have learned that I am afraid to share the 'Good News' with people and that's mostly because I'm afraid to push them away. I also learned that I have been placing judgment on people without realizing it. I try really hard not to be judging but it's in my sinful nature and when I'm not living fully in Christ then it comes out very easy. And then there is what I felt was the most important thing I needed to hear and it was Romans 2:29 'And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people." Putting God first in my life and spending that time with Him each day is going to help me seek praise from Him and not from this world. We were not created to live in this world and when we seek after God and change our heart we do not live in this world. We live in a world that is God focused with all of His blessing on us and that can not happen in this world.

If you aren't having personal time with God to strengthen and grow in your relationship I would suggest it. I have seen many changes in my life each time I do and I'm excited to see what blessings God is going to pour out over my family as I continue with this commitment.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different. We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...
