Friendly Monster

Rex has his first imaginary friend! It's adorable because he carries him every where. It's a character from a Word World that he watched yesterday.
This is one of his favorite shows to watch and I actually love it because of all the letter and words he is exposed to. In the one he watched yesterday was about the animals going camping and telling scary stories. They get scared and break the tent. When dog goes to find the letters in the woods he meets a monster. This monster is a friendly one, like only one should be on a child's show, and ends up joining in the camping fun.

I don't know why this one was so significant to Rex but it was. He loved it. About a half hour later he came barging into the bathroom to tell me all about the tent and the friendly monster. It reminded me yet again that as a mom I don't have any privacy in the house. He was so excited.

We headed out to the store and then to Popa's house because Mommy needed help just getting through the night while Daddy was gone for boys night (read Not Sleeping for clarification) and Rex told Popa all about the friendly monster as we were leaving.

Once we were driving Rex started to freak out because he couldn't find his friendly monster. I started to freak out because I didn't want to have to go back to Popa's house to 'find' him. Well, thinking quickly I told him that he was sitting in the seat next to him and it worked. Rex just said "Oh!" and was excited to have his friend with him.

Well once we got home he had to get him out of the car and take him inside. Then he got in bed and I had to kiss Rex and the friendly monster goodnight. Well apparently I ate the friendly monster instead of giving him a kiss. Rex was laughing and laughing. I just shook my head and enjoyed his cuteness.

The next morning he had to watch that Word World again (thank goodness for DVR's) with his friendly monster. I love watching Rex grow and learn fun new things like his imagination.

The League of Incredible Vegetables: Movie Review

Picture borrowed from  Christian Film Database Another movie review! I was so thrilled when I was walking through Best Buy before Christmas and saw this  DVD sitting on the shelf. If you are a boy mom like myself you know that they love super heroes. I struggle to find age appropriated super hero movies for Monkey to watch. He loves Spiderman, Batman, Iron Man, ect. and he has not seen any of the movies/shows that go along with them. Wait...he did watch The Avengers with Daddy one day while I was out. I haven't seen that one so I can't say what I think of it for a 3 year old. Anyway, I love Veggie Tale movies! I think that they do a good job of teaching lessons to kids in a way that they understand and I love the lessons they teach! This one is great because it is about fear and how if you trust God fear can't freeze you. If you have kids, especially boys this movie is great! It helps them get the superheros they want to watch without the bad guys th...

Y3W: I hate drama!

I really consider myself and my life pretty drama free. I try my best to keep people that seek after drama at a distance because I really just don't feel like dealing with it. I have certain family that automatically causes it but you know they are family and there isn't much you can do about it but set up boundaries to not allow it to affect your daily life. Which we do! I love all my extended family but sometimes, seriously, just grow up, stop acting like the world revolves around you and get over it. You children have their own families now! Anyway! After dealing with more family drama (disclaimer: the person I'm talking about would not be reading this so if your family and you are it's not you that I'm complaining about :) then I get a nasty note from a neighbor who is just plain being rude. And I love how they waited until I left before putting the note of the door. I haven't had a car for almost 3 full months and this week my hubby finally got his motorcy...
