Day 17...Quiet Time

Today I'm thankful for quiet time! Today at nap time I was able to spend in the Word. I haven't been able to for several reasons. One because we have been busy with the hubby's grandparents and everything that is going on around here but also because when I was getting down time I was spending it watching Friends. I love Friends and can watch reruns over and over but really that's not where I should be spending my time. I knew this but chose to do it anyway.

Today though I decided that I would do my Bible study from 1 (when naptime started) until 2 when Friends came on. Well then my mom called and we talked for almost the whole hour. I had about 15 minutes left and really felt that I shouldn't stop at 2 but do the full hour that I said I would.

So I got started and you know the Book they were talking about today? Proverbs! Like Proverbs 31 and Proverbs 18:9 "One who is slack in his work is brother to on who destroys"!

OK God I think I get your point! Stop watching Friends and study my Word and do as I direct you! OK it's time to listen!

So this chapter that I was able to study in Created to be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl listed some Traits of a Good Woman that are from Proverbs 31. I'm going to share with you the list that I put together of traits that I want to work towards. (The book goes into great detail about these traits and their Biblical background).

Traits of a Good Woman that I want to embrace
  • trustworthy
  • dependable
  • inspires confidence
  • reliable
  • honest
  • deserving
  • faithful
  • loyal
  • constant in love
  • unmoved
  • industrious
  • hardworking
  • busy
  • diligent
  • patient
  • frugal
  • not wasteful
  • good management
  • self-starter
  • energetic
  • enterprising
  • daring, yet cautious
  • resourceful
  • physically strong
  • hard worker
  • willing to work long hours
  • willing to work boring jobs
  • compassionate
  • merciful
  • generous
  • easily moved to help others
  • prudent
  • competent
  • benevolent
  • confident
  • plans for the future
  • craftsman
  • brings my hubby honor
  • organizes
  • manages
  • strong character
  • discerning
  • thoughtful
  • gentle
  • conscious of responsibilities
  • reliable
  • not idle
  • doesn't focus on beauty
  • fears the LORD
I know it's a long list and will not be accomplished without God's help and I plan to pray for His help daily because I know that He keeps His promises. He promised if I work towards all of these traits and to be the woman he wants me to be then I will be...
  • rare
  • uncommon
  • unusually excellent
  • unique
  • precious
  •  matchless
  • praised by my husband
  • praised by Rex
  • honored
  • appreciated
  • esteemed
  • loved
  • reap what I have sown
  • praiseworthy
  • complimented
  • approved
  • deserving admired
  • applauded
  • worthy
Why would someone not want those promises? I want to be a good woman in God's eyes and I want to be a hard worker because that is what he has called me to be. So no more sitting around and watching Friends. At 2:00 I will be working hard either on the house or studying His word so I have the strength to continue on the path that I want to continue on. If I'm working hard there is no reason I can't have Friends on but I must be busy doing something and only listening to it. You will not find a slacker around here!

Day 2 of 31 Day to Clean

So I have told you the other day that I'm going to start 31 Days to Clean by Sara Mae. (For that post go to 31 days to clean post). So I'm finally on day 2 after several days in between. This will be the way it is for me because not everyday I will be able to tackle a big task, like day number 2, but I did it today and that is what counts. So what was day 2...clean the refrigerator and freezer (at least the Martha part) so that's what I did. I cleaned the refrigerator not that long ago but I figured I would just do it again and I'm glad. Just after about 2 months (maybe 3) it really needed cleaned again and I'm really happy that it looks really nice and I can find all the stuff that is in there again. I think that I'm going to put this on my To Do list every other month. I think that would be really helpful and that way it stays clean. I'm just going to put it in my day planner and when I have some free time on day I will do it that month. Sounds like a pl...

WEDDING! Part 2: The Day Of

**Warning more Picture overload!** I couldn't help it! WEDDING DAY! (August 6, 2005) On our wedding day I was so excited! I got ready at my parents house and J. and the guys got ready at our house. It was so much fun to get our hair done at a long time friends  hair salon .  After that we headed over to my parents house to start getting ready.    Everyone was busy getting me ready and many people were up my dress trying to get my 'fluff' to stay up so I didn't have to hold my dress us when walking.  My dad was kicked out of the house until I was done. I wanted him to get the whole sh-a-bang when he walked in. This was interesting. I had to climb into the truck but was not allowed to step on the tailgate and I couldn't see my feet. It was so funny! It looks like we were going fast but we really weren't but that's how we got to the park.  THE CEREMONY! After all that hard work to make it so I ...

Monkey's Surgery

So I finally downloaded pictures and I thought I'd share the cute pictures of my little boy after his surgery he had in April. No one should have surgery at 3 years old but poor little Monkey had to have his gallbladder removed due to his blood disorder called spherecytosis.  I had to stay in bed with him afterwards. He didn't want me to go anywhere. However, being pregnant made it so I had to use the bathroom quite often so luckily he was OK with Aunt Tiffany or Grandma holding his hand while I went. He hadn't been aloud to eat for almost 48 hours. He was starving! He ate almost the whole plate of pancakes and the nurses were shocked he could eat so much. They kept encouraging us to get him up and out of the room later in the afternoon after the surgery. So we headed out in the wagon first. He wasn't to happy about being moved and we made him walk a little bit in the room but he was glad to be out.  Granny and Great Po...
