My Birth Plan

I have been writing and rewriting this post for several weeks now in preparation to Goose's birth however it just never got done. But before I share my birth story I wanted to share what I was hoping for it to be.

Before Birth:

 • I didn't want any restrictions on how overdue I was aloud to do
 • I did not want to be induced unless there was a true medical reason that caused myself or Pilot to be put in danger. If induction was necessary I wanted to try natural ways (ex: striping membranes) before using medical ways
 • Minimal exams
 • If less than 4 centimeters I wanted to labor at home
Labor:
 • No restrictions on moving around and changing positions to be comfortable
 • Quiet environment, low lights and soft music playing
 • Since I had to have an IV I wanted it capped off and only used if necessary
 • I wanted to use gravity-enhancing positions to promote decent and delivery
 • I didn't want continuous monitoring
 • No pain medication offered!
Delivery:
 • I didn't want an episiotomy
 • I wanted a mirror to watch Pilot be delivered
 • Pilot placed on my stomach right after delivery
After Delivery:
 • I wanted Hubby to cut the cord
 • I wanted to breastfeed as soon as possible after delivery
 • I wanted him to room in with me unless medically unable
So that is the extent of what I wanted! I plan to have what actually happen posted on Thursday so come and read it because you will want to hear this one.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different. We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

I'm Thankful For...day 2

Today I'm thankful for the snow outside and the fact that it has kept my hubby home with us today and the fact that just using google and a few other blogs for ideas I was able to find out how to make a link up! Link ups are fun and I can't wait to read what everyone else is thankful for this month! Grab the button, link up, follow along or just read! It's up to you!

Week #2 on THM

Well it's officially the end of week 2 on Trim Healthy Mama! I have tried some more new recipes from the book and from pinterest and I'm having so much fun with it. I also order some xylitol online to save money. I didn't realize how much sweetener I would be using but when you can make sweets for any meal or snack through out the day you can use quite a bit. Favorite Meals this week E pancakes from the book! Yum! I added in frozen berries to them while cooking and they were great and the boys loved them too. They got to have the added whipped cream or syrup on theirs. Fat Stripping Frappa! OMGOSH! This is going to be my go to summer morning drink! I can see myself making one of these up first thing in the morning to get my day going and then enjoying a yummy breakfast 3 hours later. Soon as warm weather hits Hubby's schedule will be packed full daily so my mornings will start early, like 5am early! So having a breakfast at 8:30 will be perfect timing! Cheese ...
