Proverbs 3 Bible Study

1My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.

3Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

7Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
8This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones,
9Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops;
10then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your cats will brim over with new wine.

11My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke,
12Because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

13Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understand,
14for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
15She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.
16Long life is in her right hand, in her left hand are riches and honor.
17Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.
18She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.

19By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;
20by his knowledge the deeps were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

21My son, preserves sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight,
22they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
23Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble;
24when you lie down, you will not be afraid, when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.
25Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.

27Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.
28Do not say to your neighbor, "Come back later; I'll give it tomorrow" when you now have it with you.

29Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.
30Do not accuse a man for no reason when he has done you no harm.

31Do not envy a violet man or choose any of his ways,
32for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.

33The LORD's cruse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.
34The mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble.
35The wise inherit honor, but fools he hold up to shame.

Proverbs 3

This week in Bible study we are discussing Proverbs 3 and I had to share it all because it was so good. If you read each section you can learn so much from them. I haven't been able to study each section this week like I wanted to. Having Rex, being pregnant and life to attend to I was only able to really study and pray about two different sections.

First, was Proverbs 3:1-2 This really stood out the first time I read it and I had to spend more time with it. I took from it the basic knowledge of being a believer, that God gave us his Word to study and read so that we will not forget what He wants us to know and in doing so we will prolong our lives and have prosperity. I know this sounds great and can be twisted easily into something that people don't see in every day life. I know that we are seeing it in my family right now. Even though I'm in the Word several times a week and I'm trying to know His Word doesn't mean that things are just being handed to us and we are living the sweet life. What it does mean is that I'm leaning on God and His strength to get us through the season we are in and it helps me stay positive and see the great things that we are getting to enjoy right now that wouldn't happen at other times. God is amazing and provides for every situation whether it be financial or emotional. I love how He is so loving! He cares so much for each of us and I'm so glad that He gave us his Word so we can't forget it. It's all right here in writing!

Second, was Proverbs 3:21-26 Now that I'm looking at them together I see how similar these two verses are. God gives us sound judgment and discernment. It's a gift from Him to help us make the right choices and to live the life He wants for us. It's so great to see these together. I think since these two things stuck out to me while reading on two different days that God really wants me to remember this. I can see that because just a few weeks ago my tone would have been completely different on this subject. I was having feeling of abandonment from God. I wasn't in His Word, I was praying, and I was falling into a mild depression. Luckily for me I have great ladies in my Bible study group that I was able to open up to and share my struggles and they talked me through what was going on. I jumped right back into His Word and praying more than even and within a day my attitude completely changed. God's strength and God's commands, wisdom, and discernment are all things that I was lacking without spending time with Him. It showed in my life. I'm so glad I found my way back and I'm now in such a better place.

If you would like to read last weeks just click here and see what I learned then. Come back next Tuesday for Proverbs 4!

Happy Father's Day!

Today is father's day and most people are getting together and celebrating with family. Dads, grandpas and uncles all celebrating together the joys of being a father. Maybe getting a chance to relax and enjoy just sitting around watching the kids play and being surrounded with family. That's what father's day has always looked like for us. We would always gather at my parents house. First, with my grandparents when I was growing up for dinner and a day of enjoying being together. Then as I grew older my sister and I would make sure to spend the day with our dad. Then we got married and had kids of our own and the tradition continued. We would bring all the kids and enjoy BBQing at my parents house enjoying time together. This year things are different.We can't just jump in the car and head over for a BBQ. We can't sit around on the couch or on the patio talking and laughing together. This year we are 12 hours away from where I've always been for father...

The ABC's of Our Family

I got a great idea from this lovely  blog  about doing a ABC photo book through out the year. Each week taking one photo that goes along with a letter. I have seen lots of great ideas for different photo blog ideas but all seem like to much work and something that I know I wouldn't be able to do. This one seems reasonable for our crazy life.  So to start off I have chose a great picture that I took of Rex and M playing together one day when he got home from work. Rex is so ADORABLE in this picture I just knew this was what I had to use! Plus I already know what I'm using for next week even though the picture hasn't been taken yet.  So here it is.......ADORABLE Rex playing with his Daddy! Oh I just can't get enough of this guy. Also as a little side note to how adorable he is...he kept posing for the camera once I got. He didn't care that Mommy was watching him play and wouldn't even look at me but soon as the camera was out he had to keep turning and...

12 Week Bumpdate

Yesterday we had our 12 week ultrasound and I enjoyed it so much! We were able to see our baby's face and she  (we didn't find anything out about the sex just hard to talk without he's and she's) had her hands up by her face. It was so cute. We also have a very stubborn child. The poor tech had such a hard time trying to get the measurements that she needed. She kept trying to get the baby to move. She had me move trying to get to the baby to move and nothing. So we were able to enjoy watching our baby on the screen for at least 20 minutes while she did her best to get the pictures she needed.  I'm a little bummed by the photo she gave us to take home. There were so many good photos where you could see so much and then right at the end she gave us a quick photo that isn't great but I will share it anyway. Like I said bad right. Well so it can help the baby's head in on the right side, Her hand is the white blob in front of her face and then you can b...
